You need to bear in mind that most people only post on Trip Advisor and the like when they have a bad experience, probably as some form of 'revenge'.

When you read the actual text of the ratings they can vary wildly from having bugs in your room and stains on the sheets, to minor quibbles over the colour of the toilet paper.

I'd take most of the comments with a pinch of salt.

We haven't stayed there but we did go for the Sunday Brunch. Excellent food and great service, no complaints at all in what appears to be a pretty nice hotel.

Usually doesn't bother me because most of the comments are from our usa friends and as you say bad experience and some form of revenge, but this particular commet off a brit made me think. All of the hotels i have stayed in, around the orlando area have been great, its just this time i want it to be special and have really pushed the boat out. ( had a cr...... year) thanks.

I look at tripadvisor a lot, I have found that a lot of americans
slate a place and in contrast us brits love it.

What we would consider as really good, most Americans consider mediocre.

When I stayed at The Bellagio in Las Vegas it was slated good and proper on the tripadvisor, when I got there it was a veritable palace.

I was very worried about the TripAdvisor reports on the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa - and it's still slipping. All I can say (and I'm very picky) is that it was absolutely fine for us in June - we had a great stay there in a fab room (suite). HOWEVER - I joined the 'WyndhamByRequest' club thing, and I emailed the hotel saying I was a little worried by the reports, and could the reassure me that all would be OK. Of course I got the usual 'everything will be fine' email back, but at least I had a contact name etc in case of problems. As it happened, there weren't any.

A good case of variable trip advisor reviews is to look at the Wynn Resort, Las Vegas. Some people think they've died and gone to heaven, others absolutely pan it.
