for those who have visited CA how would you get to Six Flags from Anaheim, they seem to have fireworks in the evening but all the coach tours I can see come back early?
we are going at xmas, just checked my notes, basically drive north on Interstate 5. It's about an hour away (from memory) up to Valencia.

We never went to 6 Flags but I think most of the day trip always seem to leave around 6pm.
Disney do fireworks every night and an electrical parade at California Adventure (everythings lit up).

We will definitely do the fireworks at Disney Rio but as I have already planned 5 days for Disney I was considering Six Flags for som,e non Disney time and plus the Loony Toons and thought if we could do the fireworks it would make it worth while, as it does seem to be more for the big coasters (which I remember from when we went in 97).
Jackie I am not intending hiring a car so am looking of ways with public transport, though nobody seems to have any experience of the metro for some reason (should this be my answer!)

Joanne - not sure if 5 days at Disney might be a bit much as California Dis is much smaller than Florida. I don't know about the public transport as we always have a car. Everything is CA is spread out over a wide area so having a car would be better for you. Six Flags is prob about an hour and half drive north of Anaheim.

We want to see all the characters do all the character dining see all the shows and all the parades several times, when we were at WDW we hardly got out of Fantasy Land and we did 4 days there! So I think we will be ok
I don't want to hire a car so if it is not possible without a car we just won't do it, we aren't that bothered, there is also shopping and swimming to fit in!

Hi Joanne
We did Six flags and Disney last year but we did have a car. It is about an hours drive and to be honest if you want to stay late I think your only option would be to drive as all the busses and coaches will leave the park early. We stayed overnight at a hotel right across from Six Flags which was great. Another park you might be interested in is Knotts Berry Farm. They have Camp Snoopy there a rollercoasters etc. That was really good fun. In fact we enjoyed that park more than DisneyLane to be honest!
Knotts is about 10 mins drive from Disney and depending where you are staying you should be able to get a shuttle from your hotel to Knotts.

yes Knotts Berry is on our list, if Six Flags isn't doable without a car we will just cross it off our list, I just thought somebody might have some inspiration, thanks everybody for your replies
if you like coasters you must NOT miss six flags it blows the other parks out

no we don't like roller coasters but I liked the sound of the Bugs Bunny stuff shows and fireworks which is why I thought we would give it a go.
Sumacdo,
we had a month in Anaheim last year and visited the parks almost every day though sometimes it was just for a parade or fireworks. The first time we went we had a 4 day pass which was not enough, we just love it there.
Just depends on the individuals.
