Is the Poly undergoing a refurb?

Does anyone know if the Poly is undergoing a refurb at the moment?
I read on some sites that the concierge rooms are being refurbished but I can't seem to find out for definate.
Thinking of trying to get a night or two there when we are there at end of Sept begining of Oct, but if it's being refurbed will probably try the WL instead. Also has anyone tried the concierge rooms in either of these? It's our wedding annivesarry so want it to be a surprise for Steve and want it to be good. Stayed at Contemporary concierge once and that was great.:D

Yes, the Poly is undergoing a rehab. Hawaii (the Concierge Building) is scheduled to be done mid Sept to mid Oct. Its due to open again on the 14th Oct - Im worried as we have a concierge room booked here on the 27th for 7 nights. Just hope it will be finished.

Steve (Tikiman) who owns and runs the site will be happy to ask any questions you have about the Poly and he is very helpful.

If you try to book a Concierge room during the rehab dates then there wont be any availability. Exisiting bookings have been bumped to other resorts.

Edited to add that I just checked Steves site and Hawaii is almost certainly going to be rehab'ed from Sept 17th - Oct 11th with a possibility of an overun, though are going to try hard to finish on time. At least we will have nice new rooms on our visit - if they are done!

Just got back from the Poly (Hawaii Concierge building for 10 lovely days).

I had heard they were going to start refurbishing them and i think the Sept/Oct time frame sound correct.

we are going to the Contemporary Concierge in October and i am a little worried as the Tower is undergoing renovation.
Although, when we went there, it looked like they were already on the concierge levels.



We love the Polynesian and the Concierge there is the best!
