Hi gang

Came back from Orlando last week and want a quick fix at DLP - but it has to be cheap.

Does anybody know the cheapest way to get there and has anybody arranged the Eurostar themselves and what prices are we talking about - just got quoted £1177 for 5 of us for 3 days.

Thanks

Eurostar can be about £59 return if you book early enough.

Get a hotel near the park such as Holiday Inn (See holiday Inn website - £42 a night if you book in advance) or the Kyriad - both good hotels with free shuttles to the park.

Then all there is is you entrance fee - upgrade this to an annual pass if you think you will be back.

Then again, for £1177 I'd rather stick that on my deposit for my next Disney trip! :D

She booked through Disney direct and got an offer for kids free and also 4 nights for price of 3 I think the 4 for 3 night offer is still on if you arrive between 16-20 sept or 5-8th oct

If you go with disney direct for davy crocket its around
£600 for the room and tickets plus you would need to add on your ferry cost and petrol cost to this cause you can't stay at davy crocket without a car.

the only other hotel which has rooms big enough for 5 is my travel explorers this would cost around £731- price from disneylandparis.co.uk for hotel and disney tickets but you would need to add your transport to this but you can get the shuttle to the park. Also if you book with cresta holidays they are doing 4 for 3 nights offer in sept and oct and this hotel there number is 0870 238 7711.

I normally book through cresta as I find them the cheapest followed by disney direct as sometimes they have slightly different dates on there offers.

hope this helps

Just a thought as it hasnt been mentioned. Do you have any Tesco clubcard vouchers? If so they are worth 4 times the amount on the voucher if you use them with for example Cresta. So £250 in vouchers would mean £1000 towards a holiday. You can pay the holiday in full with vouchers if you have enough or just pay the balance if you dont.

Ok another tip. This wont be everyones cup of tea but you can really make Tesco clubcard work for you. At the moment there is an offer on Birds Eye frozen meals, buy 3 and get 150 points. The cheapest Birds Eye meal is beef in gravy at 0.66p.

Buy 3 = £3.96 = 150 points = £6 towards a holiday.

I know of someone online that bought £750 worth of the beef (order in bulk at customer services) which earned him a total of £2400 in clubcard deals tokens. He gave all the beef away to charities. Therefore the holiday will cost £2400 but he has paid £750! Cosmos is also another place where you can spend your vouchers as well as Tradewinds and others. This would be off the brochure price, not the online price.

We use our tesco clubcard vouchers and exchange them for Airmiles. Change them up every 3 months and it works out at about 1500 miles each time for us (Will vary depending on your spending). DH drives for a living so only uses tesco petrol stations. We save up our miles for a year and this year have used them for 4 1st class eurostar tickets, Hilton hotel and 15days parking for our next florida trip, plus as a little bonus 4 tickets for the london eye.
I know you have to store them up to get good deals, but if you dont want to wait then they give you £5 off there bookings per 100 airmiles.

If your interested got to www.airmiles.co.uk

They also have loads of other partners where you can collect miles, like Natwest credit card. Pay for for you fuel and groceries with your natwest card at tescos and get twice the points!!!

HOLD ON BEFORE WE GET START GETTING CARRIED AWAY I HAVE JUST BEEN ON THE TESCO WEBSITE YOU GET 1 POINT FOR EVERY POINT YOU SPEND SO ON THE WEBSITE (THATS IF I AM READING IT RIGHT) WHEN YOU SPEND £200 YOU WOULD GET 2OO POINTS WHICH WOULD ONLY GET YOU £5 WORTH OF TESCO DEAL VOUCHERS. THEN SAYS YOU WANTED TO BOOK DLP HOTEL AT £800 YOU WOULD NEED £200 POUNDS WORTH OF VOUCHERS THEREFORE I THINK YOU WOULD NEED TO SPEND £20000 AT TESCO - I AM NOT SURE IF I HAVE WORKED IT OUT CORRECTLY BUT I HAVE USED THE POINTS CALCULATOR ON THE WEBSITE.

ANYWAY JUST IN CASE I HAVE EMAILED TESCO TO ASK THEM HOW MUCH I WOULD NEED TO SPEND IN TESCO TO BE ABLE TO BOOK THE DLP HOTEL AT £800 I WILL GET BACK TO YOU - CAN SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE CHECK OUT THE TESCO WEBSITE TO CHECK IF I AM READING THIS RIGHT CAUSE I'M RUBBISH AT MATHS

Stace, every pound you spend earns you 1 point. 1 point = 1 pence. So if you spend £200 you would earn 200 points which is £20. That equals £80 in clubcard deals. Therefore you would need to spend £2,000 to earn £800 in deals BUT there are various ways to earn extra points, such as my electric and gas are with Powergen and you earn points with every pound on your bill. There are lots more ways but a good source of info on all this is the shop but dont drop forum on moneysavingexpert.com.

In reality its not difficult to earn the points and they are valid for 2 years. After that the deals tokens are valid for 6 months so in reality you have up to 2.5 years to earn points and convert them to deals tokens for a holiday :)

I spend more than £2000 a year on shopping, plus anything on Tesco.com earns points too, so if you need any big electrical items such as a fridge, washing machine etc get it from there and boost your points balance. Sometimes they do deals like double points on electrical items. This beef thing that I was on about is fab, I have a £3 money off voucher from a box of cereal (Joey DVD) so the beef cost me 0.96p but I earned £6 in clubcard deals.

We done DLP-Davey Crockett Ranch for under £600-00 last September for the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 child)...

Booked direct with Disney (£440-00 4 nights 5 day package) and booked ferry seperate £115...

the drive was almost Florida standard for ease..

Really enjoyed it.

I think that I may have solved the problem of Disney not catering for a family of 5 - TAKE A FRIEND HER DH AND THEIR 1 CHILD - In fact friend jumped at chance to come and her dd8 is best friends with my dd8 so she goes free and i only have to pay for 2 ad 2 ch

I was going to suggest this becuase when we went with DH mum and dh brother and dh niece they were classed as adults so that meant less for us to pay.

we've just got back from 3 nights at the Holiday Inn, it was excellent and if you check the Holiday Inn website (not the disney one, the Holiday inn's own website) then they have some good prices. I got cheap flights, 3 nights at the HI for 124Euros per night (and you can get it cheaper than that if you time it right) and we bought Annual Fantasy Passes (119 Euros I think)

We saved abotu 500 pounds compared to a package through Disney and the Holiday Inn was lovely.

Also, look at Expedia, you can book the My Travel Explorers on a room only basis on there, it's showing £61/night for September.
