We are staying at the Hotel El Paso for a week in October. Just wondering if anyone has stayed here at this time of year? Will the pool be open? what are the best rooms to request etc?
Thanks

yeah u will get the halloween party incl in your tix if its on when u are there its fun and beware of the scary clown circus DD freaked out and DS accused me of triping him up to get away from the chainsaw guy, may be true who knows:wink , loved the parks although the water park is great u pay for the hire of the loungers which I thought was a bit OTT as for food its pretty good nd decent portions as well and bud on tap ice cold at a good price , Salou itself is worth a visit u are only a 10 min alk from the centre, the beach is excellent and the longers are cheaper than the water park:p: plenty of places to eat and shop be sure to barter though as some of those stores are all owned by same person and diff in prices:eek: there are a few quality shops as well which DW found all too easily as my wallet will testify too as well, thank god alochol was cheap:beer:

at the weekend the park closed at either 11pm or midnight, because of halloween no fire works as they had a big halloween parade at close of park, midweek it closed at 7pm no fireworks, did see the fireworks couple years ago in summer and they where pretty good, aso don't miss the shows they put on in the park they are excellent, also at a few of the shows like in the saloon bar in wild west u can order food and drinks while u are watching the show, u will find that midweek a few of the rides aren't open but at weekend everything is open, also if u got to see the show fort frenzee try and sit in the middle as when they blow something up funny money drops on u my son and daughter got a few universal dollars which is a nice free souveiner:beer:

Ask for a poolside room, some of them go straight out onto the terrace. Lovely hotel we stayed there 2 years ago and had a fantastic time.
We booked with friends and got free child places for both of them by putting one on our friends booking :D
Crafty but w e therefore only paid £840 for 2 weeks in the June.
Only problem was when we got there we got allocated a room for 3 which we didn't expect because when the brochures first came out it stated rooms all had either 2 Queen beds or 1 Queen bed with bunks.
We went to the rep and the manager of the hotel sorted us out straight away with a room of our choice out of remaining availability and we ended up with a room for 5. They couldn't do enough for us.
Loved the place as I'm always saying :D

U won't be disapointed with Portaventura:beer:
We loved Port Aventura and at midnight they had a lovely show on the lake with fireworks and it was well worth staying up for, one of the best things I've seen.
Don't forget to ride Dragon Khan, I did it with my eyes shut, but you can't tell on the photograph!!...lol.
Love Rio

Got to agree, I think Port Aventura is a great park.
Dragon Khan 7 times in a row was my record. No queues, so I just kept on riding!
:confused2
I felt guilty riding Dragon Kahn 5 times in a row and leaving DH sitting waiting:blush: ...well as you say monkeehanger, if theres no queue:D . DH just thought we were having to queue.:D
Just out of interest did anybody else find the burgers in Spain (inc. the park) were disgusting. There was only DH that would eat them and he would eat anything:(
This is somewhere im thinking of going next year, so its nice to see positive posts as im 50/50 at the moment!

I went last week, I love coasters but dragon khan was a bit of a rough ride, I found the burgers O.K and the prices reasonable, It was very warm, well it or should be in August which meant buying lots of water as I will not not drink Spanish water. It cost about £25 per sperson so about the same as theme parks at home.
