Tesco Vouchers

:confused: Hi All

I'm confused about the calculation you have for tesco vouchers. I think 2000 would only 20 of vouchers and therefore be only 80 discount. Neverless it's money for nothing as I shop with tesco almost every week anyway.

Has anyone booked with Cresta/Bridge before ? I/m thinking of saving mine towards a holiday in March 2007.

I was confused about this also but I did check with Tesco direct as I want to book the Disneyland Hotel with cresta which normally costs £800 this is there reply :

Thank you for your email.

To have £800.00 of Holiday tokens you will need £200.00 of clubcard vouchers as you get 4 times the face value of your clubcard vouchers, So in points terms you are correct you do need 20000 points.

Therefore as you get 1 point for every £1 you spend it would cost £20000. Therefore it would take you quite a long time to save this many up but it would depend on how much you spend at tesco I guess.

Also you can earn tesco clubcard points if you get gas or electric through Powergen so I have swopped mine over.

If you check out www.moneysavingsexpert.com you can find some online codes so you can get more points.

You need to spend £2000 to earn 2000 points. 2000 points = £200 in vouchers therefore £800 in deals. You dont need to spend £20,000!

I don't understand how this works, because every month or so they send me coupons and reset my balance ot zero. Do I need to do something to stop them sending the coupons? Or are those the coupons that you collect?

2000 points = £20.00 vouchers not £200.

Those are the coupons you collect Bev. You save them for as long as you want but they are only valid for 2 years, so once your 2 years is up you need to convert them into deals tokens. Once you have converted them into deals tokens you have 6 months in which to spend them on a Clubcard deal.

Actually you don't have to spend them within the two years. If you contact Tesco and tell them you are saving for something special, they will take the vouchers back and re-issue them with a new date, so that you can keep collecting for as many years as you like.

We saved coupons with a face value of £400 over 4 years, and used them for a week's holiday in Cyprus. Cost £1600. The only thing I had to pay for was the car hire.

We booked a skiing holiday through Bridge (Swiss Travel ski brochure) last year in April using our Tesco vouchers. Our vouchers didn't cover the cost of the whole holiday but made a big difference - we stayed in a hotel when normally we just go self-catering on our skiing hols!! It was great, beautiful ski resort, lovely hotel, good local Bridge rep. I would not hesitate to go with them again and will probably save up to do this again in the future as it makes a very welcome change from the self-catering ski hols we usually do. I could definitely get used to this option!!

Some friends also booked a city break through Cresta (I think) to New York last year and are going with them again on another short break to Barcelona in a weeks time, so must be okay or they wouldn't book with Cresta again if their first experience was not good. Again, these were booked using Tesco vouchers.

I used £200 worth with Cosmos this year and got £800 off our holiday in September to Minorca. Cosmos also offer Florida so you could save them towards your next trip there!! If you look out for special offers in store giving extra points they soon add up.

Tip :If you go to crestas online site and register for emails they send you a 20.00 voucher.:wink

I've been saving points like mad ! I've given my keyfobs to my husband and my mum and bought anything offering extra points including the beef everyone is buying. I also got a voucher with my receipt to get 300 extra points if i bought the tarzan 2 dvd or box set so i just had to go back in and but them too (for my daughter of course :p:)

Pay witha Tesco credit card and you get double points! You also get single points for using your Tesco credit card for purchases elsewhere. We used ours in Florida - nuff said!!!!

Can you convert Tesco points into air miles for use with any airline company?

On the airmmiles website it looks like you can use airmiles with any airline so I'd think so, I could be wrong though as I haven't done it myself www.airmiles.co.uk

You can also swap them for British Airways Airmiles - See here (http://www.britishairways.com/travel/ecnnov04tesco/public/en_gb) for further details. I recently paid for a £10000 holiday with my Tescos Platinum card which gives me £100 in vouchers extra which gives me either 3200 Airmiles or £400 in travel vouchers - well worth it!

Yes, you can either pay in full with vouchers, or you can part pay for a holiday in vouchers and pay the balance in cash.

You can also earn points by booking holidays through the Tesco website which is actually linked to LastMinute.com. Not a lot of people realise that.

No, the travel site is separate to Air miles. Say you paid £1400 for a holiday you would earn 1400 points which equals £56 in clubcard deals. I havent looked enough into airmiles to be able to tell whether its worth doing that or a holiday.

LOL - Yes, it is! And it should be at that price - treating ourselves Business Class to Honk Kong for 3 nights, Perth 2 nights, Sydney 3 nights and New Zealand 12 nights - and only 3 weeks, 3 days to go - he he!!!
