Hotel: Holiday Inn Disneyland Paris
How booked We booked through the Holiday Inn Website, and paid 124 Euros/night for Bed and Breakfast for a Superior Room.
Rooms Our room had a double bed and bunk beds. The room had a slight circus theme but I wouldn't say it was heavily themed in a Disney way. There is a curtain around the kids beds and they have their own tv. There is a wardrobe, some drawers, a safe (no charge, program your own number), a vanity unit, hair dryer in the bathroom. No Mickey Toiletries but there is a squirty Dove soap dispenser in the bathroom and a sign saying they can provide anything you have forgotten. The room is not huge, it would have been crowded with a cot up, but for the amount of time we were in the room it was not a problem.
Food Breakfast is served till 10am each morning, it's a buffet with cereal, fruit, bread, crossaints, pain au chocolate, ham, cheese, jams etc, and also sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs. I wasn't that impressed with the hot food, just because the sausages and bacon weren't what we are used too, but the breads and croissants were nice, and there was plenty on offer. No problems with queuing etc, we were able to get to the food very easily.
Hotel Facilities We used the swimming pool which was very nice, it was a rectanglar pool, with a large childrens playpool attached. The normal pool is not terribly deep but there are places where children can't reach the bottom. The children's pool is very shallow, and has a fountain and a slide. The whole area was very clean, and there were plenty of towels available to use.
There is also a small Disney Shop but this is closed in the afternoons, and so we only saw it open a couple of times.
We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on the food. In the restaurant there is a small childrens area with a tv and colouring etc, so they could go there while you finish your meal.
The bar area is very nice and relaxed and they were quite comfortable with the kids playing.
TransportationTo get to the hotel we took the VEA shuttle from the airport, not all of these buses go to the off-site hotels, but when there were only a few families left on the bus the driver asked us where we were going and took us to the hotel rather than taking us to the station to transfer, which he could have done.
The pink buses to and from the parks are fine, they run about every 15 minutes, sometimes more often. They stop at all 4 hotels, in this order: Explorers, Kyriad, Holiday Inn, Movenpick. It can get a little busy at certain times when people are trying to get on at Explorers before the Holiday Inn people have had a chance to get off, but it wasn't a huge problem. The only time we had to wait a long time for a bus was after Wishes, when we waited about 25 minutes and then gave up and got on a Santa Fe bus. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Santa Fe to the Holiday Inn along a proper pavement beside a fairly busy road.
To get back to the airport there are only 4 pickup times from the Holiday Inn, the last one is 6:30pm and we wanted to leave earlier than that, so we could have taken the pink bus to the station and then got on the VEA bus (they run on the hour every hour, not sure if our 6:30 bus left the station at 6 and got to the HI for 6:30, or left the HI at 6:30 and got to the station at 7, but either way that bus is drivng round DLP for a long time before it sets off for the airport)
Instead, we opted for a taxi, it cost 70 Euros (the bus was going to be 40 Euros) and took about 25 minutes. It was quite a hair-raising ride, but I would go for the taxi again.
Other comments
We thought the Holiday Inn was a really nice hotel. The whole place has a very upmarket classy feeling, and I would have no hesitation in staying there again. My only slight negative is that it is a bit far to walk to the parks, although it can be done.
Date of trip 16-19 August 2005
Hotel
Disneyland Hotel Castle Club Room with Park View
How Booked
Hotel and Park tickets through Cresta
Flights through easyjet.com
Rooms
Standard Room
Has 2 double beds.
Classic Victorian decoration and classy disney boarder.
TV Cabinet with pale mural of disney on and tinkerbell, with disney channel, also has mini fridge/snacks in cabinet that is very expensive. Draws at the bottom of the cabinet. There is a wadrobe and safe (no charge). Small table and chairs also in the room. (Connecting door to other room for larger families)
In the bathroom there is a vanity unit with double sinks, hair dryer, mickey toiletries and towels.
Phones are also in the rooms, but very expensive to use to call home.
Castleclub Room
Rooms same as standard room but you get a small balcony, that you can stand on and you can choose to have a park view room or view of fantasia gardens. (You also get mickey chocolate coins on your pillow every night and some Disneyland Paris slippers)
Food
Breakfast is served till around 11am each morning.
Outside the restaurant there are disney characters around 5 or 6 at a time. They will let you get autographs and take pictures and there is also a professional photographer with one of the characters. The characters are there all morning - till breakfast stops serving.
Breakfast is a buffet. Cereal, fruit, toast, egg, suasage, croissants, yoghurt and more. In the castle club you have breakfast in the castle club lounge where you get a similar style buffet breakfast but also get salmon etc.
There are 2 restaurants California Grill serving West Coast Amercan Cuisine and Inventions which is a hot and cold buffet, we have never been to any so cannot comment on what they are like but the prices are high for inventions.
Hotel Facilities
The swimming pool in the Disneyland Hotel is very small compared with all the other Disney Hotels and is also very deep, i
couldn't even stand up in it (however I am only 4foot 9), there is also a small jacuzzi at the bottom end of the pool - to be honest though we don't really have time to use the pool because by the time we had gotten back from the parks it was closed.
There is a disney boutique which is open all day till late at night, there are also payphones outside the boutique.
Concierge service just give them a ring and they will book dining etc.
Luggage service - as soon as you arrive they will take your luggage off you and then take it to your room, when checking out just ring them and they will pick it up and store it till you leave.
Steam room and gym.
Cafe fantasia piano bar serve drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic all day - very relaxed atmosphere with piano player.
2 Restaurants, california grill and Inventions restaurant.
WIFI access in some locations of the hotel. (castle club lounge, reception, meeting rooms, restaurants and bar)
Room service - again expensive.
VIP Fastpass - gives 3 opportunities per person.
If you are staying in the castle club you get a different VIP fastpass which gives you an unlimited fast pass.
Childrens Playroom
Mad Hatters Game arcade.
If staying in the castle club you get direct access lift to the entrance of the park via your special room key.
You can register your credit card details and charge everything to your room.
Valet free parking.
Transportation
To get to the hotel from the airport terminal 3 we got a taxi which cost around 60 euros. (They may try to charge you extra so you may need to barter with them) Often there are private taxis offering there services at the airport - this is what we normally use. There is also a taxi rank outside - they are the ones who will tend to give you a higher price. Taxis only take around 40 mins to get to Disney. (we always get a taxi as it only costs a few extra euros than getting the shuttle).
You can also get on the disney shuttle which does take a lot longer, you can check the prices and times at website www.vea.fr
There is not really any need to mention transporation as the Disneyland Hotel is above the entrance to the Disneyland Park and a 2 minute walk to the Disney Studios and Disney Village.
To get back to the airport we called the reception from our room and they booked us a taxi, and last year when we went we got the business card for the taxi which brought us and asked reception to call the same taxi.
Other Comments
I love the Disneyland Hotel becuase I feel like a big princess!!! I love staying in the castle club room because you get a great view of the fireworks and can here the park music below. When you stay in the Castle Club you also get free hot and cold beverages all day and free afternoon tea with scrumptious cakes and cookies. As we normally go in the christmas season we love to nip back to the hotel for the afternoon tea and a hot drink.

We have stayed at Davy Crocket, Newport Bay and the Disneyland Hotel.
Davy Crocket was OK, but we would not return.
For - Space for larger families, unique character visits and excellent pool.
Against - The drive to the park (you lose the advantage of staying on site), not good in bad weather as your lodge can be a long way from the pool / centre.
Newport Bay - Our favourite
For - Lovely design, stunning indoor and outdoor pool (in summer months), excellent views on lake side and excellent kids' staff, friendly staff. Admiral's floor great and creakfast in the Captain's quarters if you are lucky!
Against - At the far end of the lake (although we love this walk along the lake and through Disney Village), very large hotel so can feel very busy.
Disneyland Hotel - We feel very indifferent to this hotel.
For - Proximaty to the park, a few stunnig views, you do feel a bit special.
Against - The hotel was grubby when we visited, some very rude staff, standard rooms are not large enough, pool a disgrace - far too small and a few too many obnoxious over spoilt kids (if you know what I mean)
Everyone's experince of hotels is different and the above just reflects our own time at these hotels. We do not feel the extra cost of DLH is worth it.
When we asked the kids which hotel they wanted to stay in when we go in January, the both picked Newport Bay straigh away. So we have treated oursleves to a suite with a connecting room for this trip and we will get the benefit of VIP fastpass as well.
We can't wait!

Bev - great idea, this will be really helpful to Dibbers planning their DLP trip. I did a TripAdvisor review on our return and so have cut and paste it here, with some amendments.
Hotel
Santa Fe
How Booked
We booked direct with the Eurostar site. Combined package included rail travel, hotel accomodation including park tickets.
We travelled on the Eurostar directly to the Disneyland resort and were door to door in less than 3 hrs from Waterloo. The Marne Le Vallee station is in the heart of the resort and buses for the Disney hotels await just a few steps away.
We were staying at the Santa Fe which is at the budget end of the Disney accommodation. The hotel is based on a Mexican theme and the accommodation is set out in ‘pueblos’. The rooms are in blocks and painted various shades of salmon pink and are grouped in around small barren courtyards. The landscaped areas looked a little tired and dull, not the prettiest of places.
We went to check-in and found the Reception area to be quite large with a separate Information Desk. Pluto was greeting guests as we arrived which was nice for the kids. The Reception staff were friendly and all spoke English very well. We collected our park tickets and hotel information and a discount coupon for the restaurant if we dined there that evening. We were also given a card to hand in at breakfast time, giving an allotted arrival time. Having stayed at The Cheyenne before, we knew how the system worked – you just turned up at the time stated. We were given 07h00 which was rather disappointing. I asked the Receptionist if we could have a later time and he said it would be no problem to turn up an hour later if we wished. Happy with that, we took the stroll out to our room.
Our room was located in the ’Trail of Water’ area on the ground floor and was small, basic, clean and adequate. There were 2 double beds, TV, phone, mirror and a large chest of drawers in the main bedroom area. The en-suite bathroom was quite small and equipped with bath/shower, toilet and a large mirror with shaving socket. The only complimentary toiletries were two bars of soap – so make sure you bring shampoo etc. Opposite the bathroom there was hanging space and a luggage rack.
We noted that that there were no tea/coffee making facilities, fridge or iron and only 1 plug socket accessible. The room was bright with 2 large windows and the curtains definitely kept the light out in the morning. Unfortunately, the windows only opened about 5 inches – which was probably due to security as we were ground floor. There was NO aircon at all; however, there is a large ceiling fan. The fan only operated at one speed and was so noisy we could not put it on at bed time. Luckily, the weather during our stay was not too hot (around 25 degrees). Having no aircon may be an issue if it was hotter though.
Breakfast: self-service in the huge ‘La Cantina’ restaurant was continental buffet style. There was a basic but plentiful choice of croissants, rolls, cheese, ham, cereal, yogurt etc. You take a tray and help yourself, but there is one thing to note though – there are no plates! The ham is served on a plate, but there are no others available. Coffee, milk and juice are served separately in the seating area. The restaurant was very busy, but there were lots of tables and plenty of room.
Other facilities at the hotel include a gift shop, kids play area and bar (which we didn’t visit). Buses are located just outside of the Reception and run every 5 minutes or so – staff will advise you when the first/last bus of the day is. It’s only a 5 minute journey to the parks and Disney Village.
In summary: we found the hotel to be good value for money, it was clean, the Reception well organised, staff pleasant and the room basic but all you needed if you intend to be out at the parks or sightseeing. If you are after the ‘Disney magic’ maybe the SF won’t be for you. It is on a vast complex and a little lacklustre. However, we would definitely return again and would highly recommend this hotel to budget travellers who only want a basic, clean room for the night.

HOTEL Davy Crockett Ranch
Having previously stayed at NBC previously we were a bit worried about going here but we actually enjoyed it although it is a bit off the beaten track and obviously you need a car.
HOW BOOKED
Direct with Disneyland Paris website(accomodation) and ferry booked with Po ferries website.
FACILTIES
Very nice swimming pool and we enjoyed the self service restaurant. There is a small bar and some nights there were quizzes which we enjoyed but other days there was only karaoke which was not my sort of thing at all.
Accomodation Like the fact that your car is right beside your cabin and enjoyed having a kitchen to make a snack etc.
Breakfast is collected from a little kiosk nearby and taken back to your cabin .My only complaint was that even with the heating on the cabin was a bit chilly as we were there in winter.:wink
We've stayed at Newport Bay and Sequoia Lodge twice, plus this year at the Holiday Inn.
Without doubt the best is the Holiday Inn. Although NB and SL are on-site, access from the HL is easier via the bus - less walking. The hotel is newer, better standard and much cheaper.
Breakfast was far superior and the rooms first rate, including a separate "circus tent" type bunk bed with TV for the children.
We will not stay in NB or SL again having stayed at the Holiday Inn.
We stayed at SEQUOIA LODGE in July and we absolutely loved it. The hotel itself has a lovely cosy decor which you can appreciate even in the height of summer. The room was one of the one's in the main hotel building itself (a Montana room) and it was really lovely. There were two double beds (great when there's just two of you because after a long day in the park you can collapse on a bed each!) , table, good wardrobe and draw space, an excellent bathroom with a nice strong shower. The sink was outside of the bathroom which made it easier with multiple people getting ready at once.
We couldn't see the lake itself from our window but we could see some of Disney Village and Newport Bay and the view at night with all the lights was wonderful.
The breakfast was your basic continental and was fine, although I would recommend going early, i.e. about 7.30 to beat the larger crowds.
There is also a wonderful bar there which has a lovely atmosphere with live music on some nights.
There is a regular bus to the park but as the walk is only 5-10 minutes it is very pleasant especially as it is around the lake.
There is a swimming pool there but I didn't experience it myself, I have heard that it is one of the nicest ones out of all the hotels though.
we stayed at the hotel new york last week our room got robbed by the cleaner and the staff were not very helpful will not be going back....
i will stick with florida from now on.
i know i was probably a one off but the system set up in place for such incident does not support the customer but the member of staff

We have stayed at the Davy Crockett Ranch twice.
Booked direct with DLP
Travelled by car - once by boat, once by Le Shuttle.
We like to have an early morning ferry/train crossing 7am ish - shop at Cite D'Europe for food, wine & beer (before the shopping centre near DLP opened) and then stop enroute for a picnic at one of the service areas. It's become a family tradtion :D
DCR is our favourite place to stay at DLP - we have tried the Santa Fe (minus the kids) and the Sequoia (when DCR was full) but have always returned to the Ranch.
The cabins give you more space when travelling with children as there is a seperate bedroom (with double bed & bunk beds) as well as a sofa bed in the open plan living room. A small kitchen & bathroom completes your living quarters with a BBQ/patio areas outside - perfect for an evening glass of wine.
Breakfast is included - but you have to collect it from a small hut on each loop of cabins. Basic continental fare - croissant, bread, jam, coffee, tea - but my daughter really enjoyed collecting it with me and practising her 'bonjour' and 'merci' - which always seems to go down well :)
The DCR pool is lovely with a spa, slide and a small lazy river. We also found the changing facilities far better here than at the Sequoia. There is a small shop which sells groceries but having your car means it is easier and more economincal to visit the local Outlet Village and Auchan for your food (and wine) supplies.
You can hire Surrey bikes and explore the trails, see the campsite and wolves. There is an outdoor playground and outdoor activities during busier months. It can be quite a hike to the pool/shop area but there is a train that runs down the main thoroughfare and you always have your car! The drive to the parks takes little more than 10 minutes - less time than it takes to walk from some of the 'on-site' hotels. I don't feel you lose that 'on-site' feeling as there is still 'Disney' all around - from the decor to the Character visits.
There are some Castle CLub Disneyland Paris Hotel pictures on my web site below.
Hope this helps.

I’m not entirely sure that I know where to start when it comes to writing about staying at the Disneyland Hotel! I’ve taken my young family here twice now (Easter last year and August this year) and we’ve had a trip to Disney World in Florida staying in the Polynesian in-between (Christmas/New Year) and I couldn’t honestly say which is better!
The location of the Disneyland Hotel, which is right over the entrance to the Disneyland Park, is superb and it means that you can be in Fantasyland one minute and back in your room 5 minutes later.
Each time we’ve been to the Disneyland Hotel in Paris we’ve been lucky enough to stay in a suite which automatically gives you access to their exclusive Castle Club in the hotel. The Castle Club occupies the upper 2 floors of the hotel and access to which is by an exclusive lift operated by your room card. As well as taking you up to the Castle Club the lift also takes you straight down to the parks main entrance.
If you’re staying in a suite then you’ll get whisked straight up to the Castle Club on arrival where you’ll get a more relaxed check-in experience. As well as an exclusive club reception desk (where nothing is too much trouble for the staff) the Castle Club also has a private lounge that serves breakfast (complete with visits from the characters) in very calm surroundings as opposed to the main dining room that starts to get chaotic after 8am! You also never have to queue for a table in the small club lounge at breakfast. The lounge also serves complimentary soft and hot drinks throughout the day (you have to pay for spirits), complimentary afternoon tea and all with fabulous views of the Disneyland Park.
For dining in the evening you can either dine in the parks, in the Disney Village or in one of the two hotel restaurants. One serves a buffet and the other an à la carte menu. If you’re dining in the hotel then you must book (it’s compulsory) and my recommendation would be to go between opening time (6pm) and 7pm because, yet again, it becomes chaotic later on and turns into a massive bun-fight! Fortunately our two small kids (aged 2 and 7) are used to eating at 6pm so that’s when we ate each evening in the Inventions buffet restaurant. Even at that time there are plenty of characters visiting your table (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale and Eeyore). At one stage we had Mickey, Pluto AND Goofy all at the same time at our table … the kids were in seventh Heaven and I nearly fainted! Dining at this time is also a much calmer and sedate affair with the staff and characters having much more time to make a fuss over you. The characters will muck about, pretend to eat your food, hug the kids (and you), play peek-a-boo with the younger ones, get the kids to sit on their knee while you take a photo, sign autographs (buy a Disney autograph book and a chunky pen from any of the Disney shops), etc, etc.
As well as the characters coming into the restaurants for breakfast and in the evening they can also be found in the lounge area just outside the restaurants but this can get very crowded and you have to queue for your time with the character (like you do in the parks) but you do get to have a proper portrait taken that can be bought from inside the hotels shop.
The food on offer in the hotel is superb and there’s always a good choice. They also have a good selection of food for kids and they'll willingly get you a plate of fries even if there's none on offer at the buffet. They'll also warm baby food up for you and there's never a shortage of high chairs complete with Mickey Mouse ears. The service can vary depending on your waiter but I’ve generally found all the staff throughout the hotel to be helpful, attentive and most speak excellent English. The only exception to the “speak excellent English” comment tends to be the room maids and maintenance staff!
One night we asked for a babysitter so my wife and I could go into the park by ourselves. The sitter was organised for us by the Castle Club reception and was a painless experience, not like some we’ve had! The sitter spoke excellent English and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend getting a sitter although she did arrive after we’d put the kids to bed.
The rooms at the Disneyland hotel are something else whether you’re staying in a suite or not. They’re all very clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. There’s plenty of wardrobe space and a safe. The attention to detail is marvellous with Tinkerbelle bed spreads, the Seven Dwarfs carved on the mirrors in the bathroom, etc. Every night there’s a complimentary turn down service during which they’ll turn down your beds, tidy your room, freshen the towels and leave chocolates on your pillows along with tomorrow’s weather forecast.
However, if you are staying in a suite then you do get a much bigger (and I do mean bigger!) bathroom complete with bath, walk in shower, twin sinks, dressing area, separate area with toilet, bidet and sink. You also get a DVD player in your living room, mini bar, complimentary champagne (Taittinger), chocolates and long stemmed roses. You do also get much bigger bed room with a king sized bed and a separate living room complete with 4 piece suite. The sofa folds out and can be made up to become a double bed and this is done for you, if required, during the turn down service.
Also in the hotel is a heated pool and spa which are fabulous and a games room which is really a mini arcade! There’s also a shop selling all manner of Disney paraphernalia along with some essentials but here is a word of caution… don’t go to Disney and run out of anything like nappies or baby wipes! There aren’t any general stores around for miles. I speak from experience. You can get certain essential items from some of the Disney shops or baby care items from the Baby Centre off Main Street USA in the Disneyland Park but what’s on offer is very limited.
All in all I can whole heartedly recommend the Disneyland Hotel especially the Castle Club which makes the whole visit a much calmer and more relaxed experience. I know it costs extra pennies but for us it’s the only way to “do Disney” and is well worth it.
BTW Did I mention that you also get “VIP Fastpass” tickets when you stay in the Castle Club?! These exclusive Fastpass tickets let you go on any Fastpass ride you want, as many times as you want and without having to prebook a slot first. You just walk up to the ride any time you want, present your VIP Fastpass and they’ll let you on.

We stayed in the Kyriad, which is a fairly new hotel next to the Holiday Inn. (Kyriad Hotels are the budget end of the Campanile chain). The room was €72 per night (without breakfast). The price rises to €92 per night on Friday and Saturday nights.
The room was clean and adequate if uninspiring - reminded me of a Travel Inn. There was a TV and safe, and coffee making facilities. I cannot comment on pool or breakfast as we did not use either.
We booked direct with the hotel by phone (1-6043-6161) the day before we wanted to stay, so considering it was July, I think we were lucky to get a room.
There was a free shuttle bus running to and from the parks. This is the same bus that serves the Holiday Inn, I think.
At the price (€72 is about £51), I would be happy to use it again.

(Largely cut and pasted from my Tripadvisor review from June 2005).
As regular visitors to Disneyland Paris (DLP) since it first opened we have previously stayed on a range of on-site Disney accomodation (Newport Bay, Hotel Cheyenne, Davy Crockett). As we have 3 small children we have found the Camp Davy Crockett Lodges the best family option until now because of the multiple bedrooms HOWEVER this time we tried the Marriott timeshare resort at Marriott Village d'Ile-de-France.
We booked this direct through via the Marriott website (www.marriott.com), and made our own travel arrangements, taking our car through the Eurotunnel.
Marriott Village d'Ile-de-France was simply the best accommodation we have ever stayed in when visiting DLP. This was despite the resort not yet being finished, we did not actually notice any construction going on (although you could see where it was screened off at the far end of the resort, there was no noise or construction traffic whilst we were there). There was a shuttle to DLP. The swimming pool (an indoor and an outdoor one) was fantastic - much loved by our daughters. There is no on-site restaurant, but this is not necessarilly a bad thing - who wants to dine on hotel food?
The accommodation was first class - we had a two bedroom town house which was better designed than our house in London.
There is no way that we are going to use DLP hotels again if we can get in here, and there is everylikelihood of repeat visits. To imagine what Marriott is like think DVC rather than Disney.
Top Tip - if you want to visit the DLP parks for more than 3 days you might find the Annual Passes better value - especially the 345 day Fantasy Pass. We bought the annual passes because we enjoyed the flexibility of simply dipping in and out of the parks - rather than trying to cram our visit in to 1 or 2 days. The Marriott website for d'Ile-de-France features special off-season rates as low as €99 per night. Our only quibble was the presence of so much unfenced water around the resort - it is very picturesque but a concern for parents of small children.
For more info on this resort click here (http://marriott.com/property/propertypage.mi?marshaCode=PARDP)
Disneyland Hotel, Castle CLub. Silly Expensive (As is a lot of DLP) but great fun. I take mum every year.

We Have timeshare points and maybe able to exchange to this via II.
How did you get from airport to resort and from resort to Disney ?
Are there buses or would you need a car
Thanks
Angela:confused:
Hi Angela,
We took our car but seeing as you are in Edinburgh flying would indeed be much easier.
The resort has a free shuttle to and from the DLP parks. If you have missed this or prefer not to wait for it there was a very cheap taxi/private-hire minibus deal. They had good transfer rates to the Airports too - or you could simply make your way to DLP (Marne-la-Vallee Chessy) from the airport and get a taxi from there (contact the resort for details).
If you need any further help please PM me.
Regards,
disneyangel

We've already planned this years trip but are planning to return with friends again next year -between march-may. The extra living space would be great for our two 3 year olds.
Thanks again

Davey Crocketts Ranch
Having stayed there about 10 times, We would strongly recommend it.
We book direct witrh Disney and have never got a cheaper price from anybody else.
We normally travel with P and O from Dover, Its a good Idea to pay for priority unloading its £10 each way but you can pay for it just on the way out if you like which means you are loaded 1st so you can get up to the food court so no bun fight for food. THen you get unloaded 1st so you can crack on with the journey.
Journey time from Calais is around 3 hours. Make sure you either have a 20 euro note or your credit card ready for the tolls. Also put the ticket somewhere safe so you aren't scrabbling around for it at the booths.
When you Get to DCR you have to show your paper work to the gate guy so that he lets you check in so also keep that handy. After you have booked in at reception. You will be given a pin code to lift the barrier. THey say they can't promise you entry to your cabin until 4 in the afternoon but most times we have been we have got in by 2 0r 3.
The Cabins are set on TRails which is a loop that you can only go one way on. either one or 2 bedrooms each one has its own parking space and picnic table and BBQ right outside.
THe one bedroom has a double bed and bunkbed in one room. with a pull down sofa bed in the living area.
THe 2 bedroom has a double room at the back of the cabin and a small room with bunkbeds at the other end. THis provides more storage space for clothes and bags. Also there is a double sofa bed in the Lounge.
It has a Kitchenette with 2 rings and a microwave, Fridge with freezer box, and Dishwasher, you get 2 dishwasher tablets but no washing up liquid.
So you may need to take extra.
THe Bathroom has a shower over bath and the towels are provided, THe Toilet is separate which is quite handy, But the Toilet can get pretty parky in the winter as there isn't any heating in it. If you go in the winter months I suggest you turn the heating on as soon as you get in the cabin to take the chill off. We crank it up during the day so its nice when we get back. THe Shutters are a nice touch anre really keep out the light they have to be closed from the outside.
The Tv doesn't really show a lot appart from french channels and sports, there is a Disney info channel in English, Would reccommend Taking a lap top if you have a dvd player.
The Breakfast is collected from a little hut at the opening to your Trail, You get Chousants and french stick jam, nutella, butter, coffee, tea, and orange maid. In the winter you also get Pain au chocolete.
THe On site shop is quite small I would recommend you buy food and drink before you get there as it is very limited and obviously more expensive.
There is a petting Farm and childrens paly area we have only ever been out of seasdon but I imagine it could get quite busy.
THe Pool is nice there are floats for the kids to take in the water and a small lazy river and childrens playpool, there are also 2 spas although they weren't working last time we went. The restrant over looks the pool which is nice.
THe food has always been good in my experiance its freshly cooked while you wait. There is genrally quite a good salad cart as well.
You do get Characters coming around the table but it is very hit and miss noramlly its lesser characters like robin hood, and co. But last time we went Mickey dressed in his trappers outfit was the only charatcer we saw.
Haven't been to the pub so can offer no opinion other than it looks quite nice, THe area is dressed really nicely at Christmas totally in keeping with the rest of Disney.
Its a really quick 5 minute drive to Disney and the cost of PArking is included in the price. THe TRavolators are great fun for the children and play all sorts of Disney music. Which is a nice start and finish to the day. My DD loved the drinks machines in the Carpark as they made the sound of opening coke pouring coke as you passed. Only at disney lol.
Hope this helps people who are still making up there minds.

Visited Camp Davy Crockett three times & loved it,
Booked through Disney direct, Accomadtion only as we've combined our visits with our holidays in France.
Love the fact we have our car with us & can come & go as we please.
A big plus is that we don't have to share a bed-room with the kids!
Also a great pool
Our only on-site experience but we don't think we have lost out by staying there but have gained. Characters are around throughout the day.

there has been so much info posted already i will be brief
Stayed at Santa Fe in the winter season on 2 occassions and it has been perfect as we were not needing a swimming pool etc...it was clean comfortable and we had a door inbetween rooms and friends in the room next door with their DD.
We have stayed in the Sequioa lodge in the summer season and loved it so much so that this is where we would book again the next time if we were there again in the summer. great pool and nice rooms.
both had good breakfast provisions to keep you going the morning.
we felt that the transport from Santa fe was fantastic and regular only down side was peolple were really rude and pushed there way into the bus. if you have small children as we do you really have to be careful that they are not getting squashed by adults forcing themselves into the bus.
the sequoia lodge we only used the bus once or twice as we enjoyed the stroll from the hotel to the park entrance Via the lake and disney village.
like the fact that we get our park passes in with the hotel even though they are more expensive they do have deals.
i would really recommend that you book direct with disney and if you phone them they can arrange different modes of transport and so much cheaper than anything else i could find.

Hotel: Disneyland Hotel
Fantastic hotel, the theming is very subtle though and for very young children might miss it.
The location is truly superb, you walk out of the hotel straight into the Park.
The buffet breakfast and dinner are superb.
We were collected by chauffeur from CDG and it was luxury all the way.
Our kids needed warm milk for their bottles and it was provided by room service no problem.
The pool is lovely too.
I would love to stay there again.

Hotel: Campanile chain
This hotel was terrible! The door to our room kept sticking and the staff just couldnt be boethred to help us - this is a serious problem when you are trying to get into your room at midnight with two tired children and you have to wait an hour for a memebr of staff!!!!
There was a used condom on the floor of our bedroom.
There was a leak from the bathroom all over the carpet.
I would definately not stay there again, staff service dreadful, too far from parks, dirty -my advice is spend a few more euros and stay somewhere decent!!!
There was no food in any of the vending machines and you can only drink water as resatuant closes at 9 and no bar.
Sorry guys - give this one a miss!

My Travel Explorers (October half term 2006)= BUSY!
BARGAIN £50 for family of 4 per night via EXPEDIA.
Great for kids with themed pool including slides and a huge indoor play area (free) plus 2 games rooms. Continental breakfast was very basic. Drinks in bar very expensive but they did have a nightly happy hour. Clean rooms fresh towels daily etc. Interactive t.v. with playstation.
SHUTTLE BUS but we used car with FREE parking at the NEW YORK or any other hotel etc with our 365 day DREAM AP's @ £110 with massive discounts, early entry, VIP fastpasses, buzz pins etc.
NORFOLKLINE £45 return = excellent! - play area for kids/playstations/bar/cafe. They allowed us on earlier ferry just 10 mins before departure. Journey to DLRP from Dunkerque just 3 hours 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. Whole journey from South Wales 9 hours (we would have spent nearly that much time in airport before plus flight then luggage retrieval and transfer). Kids slept with comfy pillows or watched dvd etc and we had a nice break on ferry.
ABSOLUTE BARGAIN!:D

Hotel cheyenne
Loved this hotel even though it was a bit strange to be in a wild west town in the middle of winter. A million times nicer than the santa fe and if it had a pool it would be perfect. The reception and bar were warm and cosy. Minnie mouse was there greeting people on most mornings. There was live music in the bar, although it was very crowded/ hard to get seats. The food was ok. They even went out of their way to make sure my eldest got something he would eat. Breakfast only had cold food without the option to buy a cooked breakfast, this I found strange as the santa fe was offering hot food in summer. Yet here we were in a better hotel with no hot food.
Next time I'm going to the hotel new york or Sequoia lodge maybe easter 2008

Feb 2008.
I was concerned we would be cold at the time of year as the heating didn't seem adequate, but we left the heaters on to greet us when we got home in the evening and it was toasty. We love this place. The cabins are very nice and perfectly adequate-although not having a grill, toaster or oven forces a bit of creativity!
The characters in the park of an evening are hilarious. Goofy kidnapped me in my wheelchair one night, much to the amusement of the kids! The shop on site is very handy,a little pricey but not too bad and had quite a varied range of food this time.
We didn't get in the pool this time due to me not being well, but it looked as lovely as we remembered it!
The breakfast of croissants etc is very nice, but our kids are not keen so I just take a pack of cereal with us for them-although they will not drink the cartons of milk given out with brekkkie which is a bit of a nuisance!
The distance to the park is nothing at all, and the Auchen shopping centre is fab-there is a very good chemist there where the staff speak very good english, which turned out to be a lifesaver for us.
We love this place and I'm already saving to go back-however I haven't stayed at any other disney accomodation to compare it.

Best Western Marne La Vallee (NOT Hotel du golf marne la vallee) :wavey:
Rated 4 star, but it's more like a good 3 star. Clean, nice decor, pool area, room with balcony, excellent buffet style breakfast and reasonable rates, booked direct with Eurostar.
Very close (5 mins walk) to the Marne La Vallee train station, which also has some lovely cafes that serve good food very cheaply.
Train was 2 stops to Disneyland, took about 6 mins on the train and trains were every few mins.
Really good location for an off-site hotel.
Would def stay there again, but in August we're staying in the Cheyenne as it has worked out cheaper this time round.

This is 'Off site' but so close by with easy access on the 'free' shuttle bus(No.54)
Our first impressions of the hotel were 'WOW'!
Check in relatively easy, we arrived about 4.30pm(feb 08), although we were surprised we had to pay the 'City tax' by CC as they had no change for cash(It was only 6 euro's!)
We booked our stay through 'Opodo' & paid £164 for two nights, excellent value imo!
Our room was on 5th floor & the view was stunning. The hotel has 3 large lifts so it was never a problem getting to 5th floor. The room itself was spacious with excellent decor throughout & a huge comfy 'king' bed(we were a party of just 2 adults..left kids at home!)
TV in room mainly had French channels but thats not really a problem with the small amount of time spent in the room.
Breakfast is served between 7.30 & 11 and is buffet style. We didn't have a problem getting a table on either of our 2 mornings but then there were only 2 of us plus it was Feb..Wonder what it's like July/Aug?
The buffet had evey imaginable 'Breakfast' food, Hot & cold and was delicious..a great way to begin a 'Disney' day!
The Shuttle bus literaly took just 5 mins to get to Disney & we were very lucky to get a bus easily each time we wanted one, again this is probably harder at height of Summer season?
Check out was easy too as we had'nt charged anything to our room so were able to use the 'express' check out which is just putting your key into a box by reception!
We didn't use the Hotel Bar but it did look lovely, but expensive, hence why we didn't bother with it.
We loved The Dream Castle & would definately book it again should we ever return to DLP!

We have stayed at The Explorers which is disney reccomended. They have large rooms that can accomadate families with more than 2 children or even granny and gramps.Im sure thay have rooms to sleep 6 or even seven.usually 2 doubles and bunk beds.U get to the parks using free buses that run often. They added bonus is that they also had a swimming pool that stayed open til 10pm,which was good as my Ds loves swimming.I hope this helps.I cant remember who we booked it with sorry.

We stayed at the Newport Bay hotel last October and I found the hotel to be looking a little run down and in need of a bit of rehab (paper peeling and looking grubby, carpets looking dirty etc) in the corridors and public areas.
Found the CM to be very helpful as you expect Disney CM's to be. Breakfast was good with plenty to go round although as has been mentioned before on these forums the french have no concept of queing and the buffet can turn into a bit of a scrum.
Personally I like the walk from the hotel to the parks, through Disney Villlage but did use the bus service too and found it to be good and reliable.

We've stayed in the Sequoia Lodge and the Newport Bay with dd, who was 3 and 4 when we were there. The SL was far better for children we felt, and infact we ended up eating at the SL each night we stayed at the NB. The bar areas just felt a bit too formal and we didn't relax there as much, whereas at the SL the bar was comfy, the decor more casual and we weren't worried about dd being up late. The restaurant menus were also more fancy at the NB.
There was nothing really wrong with it, and the pool was lovely, but we definitely preferred the SL.
