Can anyone advise us if Silver Springs is worth a visit?
Looks great in the brochure.
Grateful for any comments or advice.
Thanks

We had a day there on our trip last October and we loved it. As mentioned above, it is very different from any of the parks in Orlando so as long as you are not expecing lots of glitz and white knuckle rides you will love it.
Read our trip report for that day http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41587 for an idea of what is there and what we did. Bear in mind, we went just after the hurricanes and not everything was open to the public still.
We had been before to Silver Springs, but a very long time ago, and remember the Jeep Safari as being very good and were disappointed that it was not available that day (too many trees fallen down on the tracks).

Thanks for all the info.
Enjoyed reading your trip report for that day.
I think we will definitely pay Silver Springs a visit. Sounds like it will be just the relaxation we need after a few days walking round Disney.

Burties,
We went to Silver Springs last October and I must say dont waste a day going there. It was dirty, the animals were in poor condition and after speaking to locals they said it had really gone down hill over the last few years since the ownership had changed.
I've heard that Cypress Gdns is quite good now so may be that might be a better choice.
Dont just take my word for it there are plenty of posts re Silver Springs and how it has gone down hill
