We're hoping to spend a day in the saddle on our forthcoming trip, we heard that a day biking around Lake Okeechobee was good fun - has anyone done this, or have any good tips of other places to cycle?

I don't know about Okeechobee but this might be of some use for you.

hi
another good website is florida greenways and trails. have walked:-
cady way trail urban but god for a morning or afternoon short trip ending at paninis bakery for a snack in the mall where trail starts!
west orange trail, brilliant stopping at winter park for snacks. we did walk 15 miles of it.
general james a. van fleet trail. isolated but worth the it.clermont and lake minneola. very good
little econ greenway. bike toymca along banks of river, wonderful healthy organic drinks and snacks. trail is well frequented . not circular, there and back.
all marked and mapped on website except econ greenway but this is marked on local map or the people at the orange trail will be able to tell you how to get there.
hope you get to do some, take binocculars there are some wonderful bird trails on parts of the ways.
only 20 days before we get get to do some!:jump: :jump: :jump:

I was trying to think of West Orange but couldn't remember the name of it. That is very popular for locals.
Can ditto the binnocular suggestion. Loads of birds to take a look at.

Pretty sure there is a link in the Brit Guide for cycle tours in the Winter Park area, with a guide too I think.
I've not got the book with me but i'm sure someone else here will have and can post the link, if not I'll do it tonight.
