No really much there but as Flo say's worth adrive round just to 'see it'
Ted
If you go, make sure it is a Friday or Saturday evening when the 'cruise' is on, all the not rods etc and classic cars from miles around turn up and it is a good safe atmosphere. But a nice way to spend a few hours in the evening to look round. If your not going on a 'cruise' night probably an hour is enough.

hi
if you go to downtown kissimmee on a thursday there is a farmers market and craft stalls, also the couple of antique shops are worth a look round. the statue with pieces of stone from all nations is quite ineresting. a couple of decent places to have coffee. the drug store has a cafe at the bacck not much to look at but is always packed. does good soup and sadwich lunches. a wlak round the lake finnishes about a three to four visit of well!! i think the car thing is at old town which is a different area altogether.

I think that some confuse the busy section of 192 (Old Town area) as downtown Kissimmee. It is actually much further east. Kissimmee/St Cloud are both very old towns and aren't very thrilling but do provide a more natural setting for a lot of Florida towns. Farming (horse, citrus, veg, etc.) are a big part of these areas so it is a bit more old fashion and slower paced.
I think I probably meant Old Town, sorry.
I thought I had seen a picture of one of those old fashioned ferris wheels and I wondered what else there was there.

Downtown is off the eastern end of 192, Old Town is more towards the western end of 192.

Here Flo,take a look here.www.old-town.com
Cruises, about 75 shops, live music,a couple of bars and eateries and some fairground rides.
Next door is the Skycoaster..............ride it if you dare [I darent]
Sunday thru Weds its a bit quiet, but easier to look round the shops at your own pace.Thursday is Bike nite, but if its the cars you want to see then make sure you go Sat rather then Fri.
It gets busy but you will find parking at the bottom end of Old Town [ normally signposted anyway]
Dont expect disney, but its a great atmosphere and mixing with some of the locals.......................and the cars...they are beautiful.

Dont forget to have a look around the Celebration area of Kissimmee - I'm going to live there when my lottery comes up (note I say when and not if!!!). It is signposted up from the Old Town. See how the other half live here - I believe there is a market on at some point through the week but I dont know when - I'm sure someone will tho.

See you on the rocking chairs at the harbour then!!:wink
OK - but if I'm not there I'll be on my own rocker on my wrap around porch :D :wink
Old Town is certainly worth a quick look, particularly, as has already been said, on Friday or Saturday evenings. Quite a nice atmosphere.
We stayed near there in 2000 and really enjoyed strolling around the place, but popped down for an evening last February from our hotel in a different area and found it to be a little more run down now.
Dragster and the Skydive good to watch though!
