Anyone been to this venue? We would like to surprise our son while out there, and see The nintendo fusion tour featuring fall out boy is on, who he likes, there are also three supporting acts.
Can anyone advise - is standing OK, what is the venue like, I see there is some seating but view is restricted? Do you just order the tickets through ticketmaster and pick them up there? Thanks for any info you can give,

http://www.hardrock.com/live2/venue.asp?Action=Seating found the seating plan, having waded through a lot of reviews the venue seems good, have decided to book seats in the balcony area as I won't be able to have a drink as I'm driving, tried to book just now but the ticketmaster site is down for maint.

It is a fantastic venue we have seen about 3/4 bands there.
We always stand, but the seating looks ok.
The most recent visit we were unable to book the tickets online and had to phone Ticketmaster in the US which was fine.
We just pick the tickets up before we have dinner in the Hard Rock Cafe. Sometimes if you have dinner at the Hard Rock you can go through the side door into the venue rather than queue up outside.
Downstairs is standing, upstairs is seated. Nowhere is really restricted viewing, unless you are stuck downstairs at the back, behind some really tall person! *lol* Some friends of mine played a gig there a few years back and we sat in reserved seating on the balcony, right at the front, and had a fantastic view. It's a great venue, i highly recommend it. :)

Have now booked it - balcony centre seats so hope he enjoys it - not sure if we will but I suppose that's life as parents!

Fall Out Boy are really good. Both my wife and I like them, and so does my Step Daughter.

We will probably make this a day out at IOA/US, and have a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe before the show. Would I be best just to park the car at the normal IOA/US car parking, or would it be better to park at the Hard Rock Hotel - whichever is the easiest for getting away really?

This would make it more expensive but really cool.
Why not pack an overnight bag and book one night at the Hard Rock Hotel.
You can check in at 8.00am and for the day you check in and the day you check out you get Front Of The Line passes all day on the rides at IOA and US.
Parking, you just use the normal car parks.
If you go to the downstairs to see somone popular get there way ahead of time to get a good stage mush spot... I see Aimee Mann plays the week after we come back, last year she was here(UK) and cancelled her machester gig and re organised it for a time we couldnt make.. Perhaps shes avoiding me...

I just suggested one night at the Hard Rock Hotel to DW - shot down in flames - she likes her villa!

LOL Villas are nice, but my DW would jump at staying at the Hard Rock again, it is a lovely hotel, very cool, and the Front of Line access.
Oh well it was worth a try, so no drinking for you then unless you get a cab.

We sat in the balcony area in June when we went to see keane. As i saw it no seats really have any kind of restricted view. I personally was let down by the gig and venue as the night had absolutly no atmosphere, but maybe that was just keane
Claire.

lesleyjane, we'll be the middle aged parents probably with earplugs and possibly with an embarressed teengae son at a gig with his parents!
I am told they are like Blink182 so I am ready for an earpounding!
Now I would really liked to have seen Keane, no atmosphere? I don't think Keane's style is what the Americans are used to.

http://www.hardrock.com/px/px/register.asp?selLocation=Orlando is a link to prebook a table at Hard Rock Cafe up to 30 days in advance - going to use this to book a table for something to eat before the show

they probably would be much happier without the "oldies" too!
I see your location "theatre of dreams" now there is only 1 - do you live beside the mighty red devils, our favourite English side?
Alex Ferguson has given me years of pleasurable football viewing, first at Aberdeen then at ManU
Fall out Boy are really cool, you'll love em honest!;)
We've been to HRL several times now and theres been a great atmosphere, but I must admit we've never sat upstairs so dont know what its like there.....

We come back into Manchester on the Sat 22nd Oct when ManU are home to Spurs, tried to get some tickets and would have stayed overnight in Manchester - no joy - they are still like hen's teeth. Have only ever managed to get midweek champions league tickets.
I looked at the hospitatility packages, but at £170 each for a 3 course meal and a ticket, this is too much to lose if TCD don't get us back in time!
