No, not another thread about TCD... ;) Oh, do chill - I'm joking!
We've booked a few ADRs (and PSs cos we made them before the change over!) at places like Le Cellier and Brown Derby.
For those meals we are probably going to want to drink wine...not being wine experts we won't be going mad but would like to have some idea of how much a reasonable bottle of wine will cost and what sort of thing to go for that balances value with taste.
Le Cellier is bound to be steak, Brown Derby probably the rack of lamb.
We would like something lighter than a Cabernet Sauvignon as I won't be allowed to sleep in the Hall of President's all day...over to you.
I would go far a nice sonoma zinfandel with both dishes, although a zinfandel can be a more ballsy grape than cab sauv the cooler climate of sonoma compared to napa give it a lighter finish..
Both Restaurants serve Ravenswood Sonoma Zinfandel; I think the price may be in the trip reports...
If you want a very light red that will handle a red meat the west coast pinot noirs are unbeatable, you can even try and emulate the film sideways... Go for areas from as south as sonoma califonia, up to oregon ,washington and even vancouver.... These will be expensive though....
Be aware that wine can be very expensive in Florida - even if it's only come from California!
Never found it very expensive in comparism to the general mark up you would expect in a good uk restaurant, even the V&A was serving NewZealand Marlbrough Sauvignons at a better price than our local haunt..
I like my wine, oh yes.
But I know very little.
In Florida, in the absence of many wines I know (Wolfblass, Chablis) I took to picking wines with cool names!
Fess Parker (Brown Derby), 7 Deadly Zins (California Grill) and Francis Ford Copula (Spoodles)
It's one idea =) =)

I notice a distinct absence of actual prices here :(
Sorry Jay there in the Retsaurant reprt links..(wow looks like ive had a glass or two already)
I'd say on average 30-40 bucks for a great bottle, 20-30 bucks for a good bottle.
I did buy a $200 bottle off the reserve list in the California Grill, and it was nice but not worth it. (I know, more money than sense.)
In the Uk, I never pay more than £50 for a bottle of wine in a restaurant, no matter how much someone raves about it.
I never pay more than £20 in a supermarket. The sweet spot is around £8 in my opinion, and there are many good £5 wines too.
Hope this fiddles your fiscals Jay!

A lot of the restaurants will recommend a wine for each dish on the menu, expect to pay around $7 a glass though and it's not always worth it!
As I am sure you are saying Pooh, they will supply the highest margin juice!
