View Full Version : DTD food recommendations?

Myself, Mrs Jay and DD6 will be eating on two or three evenings at DTD. One of them is before or after the earlier La Nouba; one will be after a day at Seaworld; another will be after a foray to a Mall.

On my own I would probably be at House of Blues - what is it like with a DD6? We aren't big seafood fans so will probably not do Fulton's Crab House...

Any other places to go to or to avoid?

Unfortunately I can only reccommend Fultons, Wolfgangs seems to have a decent dinner menu but i here mixed reports..

Rainforest Cafe - your daughter would love the theme! Beware tho, the portions are huge!

Only ate at House of Blues Gospel Brunch. Food was really tasty and wholesome, decent choice for the little'uns too. Pretty standard fare though.

Rainforest Cafe is worth a stab, although it can be a bit hit and miss.

We've not eaten elsewhere in DTD, I'd be more inclined to eat at the Crossroads instead.

For a family dinner i would definately recommend Rainforest cafe, portions are huge and the theming is excellent.

On one evening myself and DH left the two boys with nanny and visited Wolfgang Puck. Food was excellent, service was outstanding, DH would definately recommend the Rosemary chicken. I would recommend the white chocolate new york cheesecake.

We are going back next September and will definately be going back to Wolfgang Puck. We ate inside last time as we didnt realise you could request seating overlooking the lake. The view from there was superb.

Hope this helps.:wink

My vote goes to the Rainforest Cafe too - our fave place to eat! I know people give it mixed reviews but we ate there 3 times & the service, food & atmosphere were brilliant on each occasion...maybe it's the staff that were on at the time we were there...I don't know, we just couldn't complain about anything :D

Thanks for those suggestions...I was keen on RFC but had read a few not-so-good reports. Going to give that one a try, I think. And thanks, Steve, for the coupon link...that'll swing me a visit.

another vote for the RFC but also if you can't manage a huge meal we enjoyed earl of sandwich - very tasty and they do a bacon and egg for brekkie which we also tried we would definately go back there again

I agree with the above.

One word of caution though. Sometimes they can have long wait times depending on the size of your party. I did here some 2 - 3 hours being given June this year orund 7 - 7.30ish of an evening.

Yes from experience all the restaurants get very busy from about 6-30 to 9-00, we usually try to eat just before 6-00 or wait an hour but there is so much to see at DTD.

I love Rainforest to, it's our favourite at DTD.

Thanks for the tip on timing...eat earlier (DD6 will prefer this) or "book in and wander until a table is ready" it is then.

But with your DD being 6 I would go for Rainforest the theming is fantastic she'll love it.
Also about going early.. we saw loads of kids asleep in their dinners in quite a few restaurants when going later in the evening, those parks really do tire them out.
