Try www.haleysmotel.com just a stroll from the beach offering either rooms or onr to three bedroom apartments...
We are going in October (16-24) and are staying at the Palm Tree Villas on Holmes Beach. We spent a day at Ana Maria Island last year and it's stunning.

We stayed at the Silver Surf Hotel on Anna Maria Island a few years ago and stayed at the Hilton Longboat Key (next Island down) on our honeymoon. Both excellent hotels the Silversurf pipped it for us a nice small hotel with its own private beach.

Hello
I have been to Annmaria island for one day
BUT
My parents go every year for the majority of thier two weeks
they like it so much they hope to retire there for a few years
white beaches, friendly locals, slow pace of life.
They stay at a place called the Pelican Post
which is now run by an english couple who bought it
last year
for more info see:-

I recommend sitting watching the sunset whilst having dinner in the Sandbar restaurant right on the beach. The memories :beer2:
