other than using fastpass are there any other ways that you can get to the front. someone at my ds school said last year she thought you could pay extra and be shown around by a disney guide and go straight to the front. cheers for any help.

You can certainly do this at Universal but haven't seen it at Disney.
Does anyone else know?

:D :D :D
You can also go as a single rider on several attractions - MIB, Mummy, Test Track spring to mind - where you will be separated from your party, but it's useful if you don't mind.

You can pay for behind the scene tours at disney, there are various type of tours but some can be very expensive, some of these tours allow you to go to the front of the line for select rides, which the disney guide who is showing you around will take you to. One of the tours for magic kingdom takes you into the tunnels under MK which all the employees use.

Get someone to take a wheelchair and take turns to use it and beat the queues at most rides...seen several people do this

Where can you find details about the disney and universal extra tours and stuff? It doesn't mention any of this in the holiday brochures.

Express passes are stopping at Universal for quiet times. They'll just be available weekends and peak times! The pass books will still be available (to buy of course) or front of line when you stop onsite.
I think what they are trying to say is that not having express passes at quiet times makes the general queue quicker, so a better experience all round. Probably more to do with getting us to spend more money really!
What with Jaws supposedly seasonal now, the park tickets should definately be cheaper for off season.

We did the family magic tour at the MK which was really fun. It was $25 per person and was a kind of treasure hunt that lasted 2 hours. At the end we were taken straight in to Philarmagic without lining up but that was the only ride. I don't think going on a tour is a practical way of avoiding queues at Disney. (I know Universal do a VIP tour that avoids queueing but it is v.expnsve and I don't think Disney do an equivalent)
The best thing to do is to get to the parks at opening time, head straight for the big rides that are likely to develop queues later in the day and to use fastpass. There is loads of useful info here on the DIBB or if you get one of the guidebooks.

PS Another useful site for planning your day to avoid queues is www.tourguidemike.com
edited to change from Fantasmic to Philarmagic, just having a dizzy moment!!

Do you mean Philharmagic? We went into see that with Peter and Wendy but we did have to wait (we went in the Fast pass entrance, but then waited because Peter wanted to sit inthe front row, We actually had the best time while waiting as Peter and Wendy played games with the kids, it was fun and if we had gone straight in we would have missed that.)

OH NO ... I most certainly would question anyone not in a CM uniform trying to get past me. :nonono:
Queue jumping is one of my pet hates and last trip I had a confrontation with a rather obnoxious American woman and her 3 kids who thought it was perfectly reasonable for her husband to wait in line for 30 minutes or so whilst she and the spawn of satan were allowed to relax, eat ice cream or whatever and then just stroll up to the front of line past the rest of us who'd waited WITH our families. Once one person speaks up you'd be surprised how many others want to join in.

Don't queue jump - its horrible!
Christine
We were going on Test Track on a quiet September day. The long roped off queue was completely empty - completely!!! So, we bobbed down under the ropes...and a loud voice came over the loud speakers warning us about queue jumping and that we might be asked to leave the ride! I felt sooo guilty and there was not a soul about!

that reminds me of shrek the film, where they visit the kingdom and walk up and down the roped queue, lol, chuckling away at the thought of being told off... must have some kind of sensors on them maybe!
I still feel guilty and it was in 2000!

At Busch Gardens we had a particularly long queue for the rapids and we had an American guy in front whose 8 yes eight kids (maybe he was part of a large party) came through the gardens at the side and joined him after we had queued for about 30 minutes without any fans etc! He took umbrage when I mentioned it to my sister in law and he heard me. He was really rude and no-one else backed me up. I was mad because my little ones had queued (and sweated with me) and I didn't see why they should have to wait longer to get in because they had pushed in. He was very rude about it but when we got off and my brother (6' 4" and built like a tank) met us as we got off the ride this awful man became very quiet. It spoilt the ride for us and I had to hold my brother back!!
Bit off topic, but we found queue jumping much worse at DLP. Going into Pirates of the Caribbean was like a rugby scrum. In the end a few Brits formed a bit of a barrier.:wiggle:

Lol:D , thanks for the warning, im not going to tell my partner though i might just give him some subtle encouragement to do the same. He is a bit of a stickler for rules so it would make my day to hear him get told of:pgig:

A couple of ways of queue jumping..
Wear a big mouse costume for the day... Its strange, but you get on all of the rides very quickly, and people keep asking for your autograph..
Or... Wear a baseball cap, big dark glasses, take some bouncers in suits round with you.. and pay a few people to chase you around taking photographs...
that might work..

where did she find a DH like that? id like one lol
We just did the Keys to the Kingdom tour - it was $56 per person and included lunch. Lasted about 5 hours so was well worth it.
Part of the tour involves "walk-ons" to rides - we did the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. Would have been better if it had been a busier time of year - the queues were so small we could not enjoy being smug!!!
Does anyone know whther Disney and Universal still have the baby swap option available on rides anymore??? Never saw it as an option at Disney??

Universal and Seaworld definitely do - we saw it in action
Did not notice at WDW sorry but the rides were all just about walk-ons anyway
