Hi
I have searched the site for this one but can't seem to get the answer.
Is there a "best place" as with other Disney shows and parades to watch illuminations from?
I don't want to book an expensive cruise or dinner, just wondered where the best vantage point around the lake would be.
Been loads of times to Orlando but never seen illuminations.

There are many places around the lagoon that you can get a good view .. non are 'perfect' in my opinion as they are all different ... all I would advise is when you find a place look up into the sky... there are lots of trees around the WS that can obstruct your view and when you find a place you don't always realise until the fireworks start and they go up behind the trees..
It always seems busier around Mexico/ norway so this is maybe a good place but get there early!

Also be aware of the wind direction as smoke in your eyes does not enhance the experience. There are lots of good vantage points around the lagoon.

Also beware of what you want to do at the end of the fireworks.
If you are staying at an Epcot hotel (one off International Gateway), you are best being that end of the park. Everyone else will be headed for the main exit and it is a crush.
If you are headed for the car park, so will everyone else and it is very very busy... Either be at the Futureworld end of Epcot lake and leave as soon as the fireworks end or be prepared to hang around afterwards until the main crowd dies down.
I'm planning on doing Illuminations on an Epcot EMH night so that I can stay in the park after and leave at my leisure.
Non-Disney hotel guests can do the same (but can't ride on any attractions) - give it half an hour or an hour and let the masses depart before you casually wander out ;)
Canada or Mexice are good spots, thats where we have been on our last two trips
The bridge between UK and France or the bridge by mexico are good too- dont sit on the bridge though- you will be told off
