any suggestions.... for a little something different

i am running out of ideas of somewhere to go for 2 days and a night whilst in florida, as you can see over the last two visits i have gone elsewhere to see a little something different.
this year i was going to go to new orleans!. i rather not go to the north east ,intend on going there for shopping trips (just the wife and i )
so have you any ideas

What about the Bahamas? A few years ago we spent a week in Orlando and a week in Miami, and whilst in Miami we booked a day-trip to Nassau (a cheapie thru Walmarts travel agents I think).

Flight only about 30/40 mins so we had time to look around, guided taxi tour etc. If we had stayed overnight we would have had time for watersports/beach barbie etc.

Its worth checking out the travel agents inside Wal-mart. I have also seen them advertise reasonably-priced mini cruises to the Bahamas too.

i did think about the bahamas in fact i had a thread about it on these boards, i decided against in light of a couple of reports ha ha.
i am presently trawling through amtrak and various airline sites trying to piece something together.

Couple of ideas....

Have you been down to Key West? It's like a different country (sort of).

My mum and dad loved Savannah.

Would you consider Hilton Head Island or some other Islands in the Carolinas?
