You have to be staying at a Disney hotel to use extra magic hours and they control it using wristbands that have to be purchased!

The posted park hours are for any guest .. so if it says nine then this is when the park will close. The EMH will last until midnight :D

I have heard that the Evening EMHs can increase park numbers (guests) so you may find it a little busier than normal.

Do those staying at WDW hotels have to purchase the wrist bands? I thought it was a 'perk' for staying in WDW - not an opportunity for Disney to profiteer.

I also have been told to avoid EMH as crowds increase.

you don't purchase the wristbands, the CM's hand them out to you on production of a valid resort room key......

As i have heard the crowds are busier on EMH days is it possible
for WDW guests to enter paark after 9.00 with the wristaband just to take advantage of the rides then it is hotel guests only or do you have to be in the park when it official closes?

Thanks

My understanding was that the wristbands are available from 2 hours before normal park closing. I have read nothing that says you can (or cannot!) enter the park after official closing. Logic tells me you would need the wristband to get in and, as you can only get the wristband inside the park, that you would have to be inside before normal closing. But logic isn't always right!

Are there limited numbers of wristbands?

Did you used to have to pay for the wristbands....I am sure ib the early days we had to pay $10 each?

Hi

You dont need to pay for the wrist bands as and mentioned they are available a couple of hours before closing.

They were still giving out bands well after closing time ... but did not try to get in after closing
