Hi, I've always fancied going horse riding and thought I would have that first experience in Florida.
Been looking online and found this place...
"HORSE WORLD"
RIDING STABLES
3705 Poinciana Blvd.
Kissimmee, FL 34758
It seems to have just what I want but wondered if anyone had been or even heard about the place.
I've never even sat on a horse so novice is definately the word to describe me, this place has a 50 minute nature trail for adults and children and its a simple walking trail for beginners.
Thanks x

Hi,
Sounds wonderful! I don't know anything about them but I did something similar in Australia, it was my first ever time on a horse and it was a bit of a crash course. Enjoyed every bit of it - go for it!

I think I will !!! Thank you for the encouragement.
We do have riding stables local but it operates on "lessons only". I dont really want to have a course of lessons and this place in Kissimee looks perfect.

Their Trail Riding option is just what I'm after.
I would love to try something like this...We have a riding facility at the club and would love to have a few lessons..

You can also go on a pony trek from Disney's Wilderness Lodge - check on www.wdisneyw.co.uk - just click on 'other' and then recreation, and it is listed as trail rides. Prices are listed too!

We did the trail at wilderness lodge. It was my husbands first time on a horse and he loved it. The horses know where they are going so theres not much to do but its a lovely peaceful 45 min trail. we are certainly going again next june.

My daughter of 11 years old and my brother went to Horse World in July.
Both are very experienced riders and they thought it was just okay. The horses were a little too tame for their liking!!!!
I did see a group go out at the Beginner Level and they all came back looking very happy.
I would recommend it for a Beginner.
Try to go in the morning and not the afternoon though - bit too hot for the horses in the afternoon.
My daughter loved the gift shop as it was full of horse stuff!!!!

I went to Horse World last year. I am an experienced rider but my DH is not so we went on the beginners ride. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Horses seemed better than you average riding school 'nag' and the trail was lovely. We were there in the middle of all the hurricanes last year so seeing all the damage close up was an experience. When we got back to the stable we saw a MASSIVE gator on the other side of the lake. More than we saw at Boggy Creek :omg:

Thanks to everyone who has replied and we have decided to definately do it but one more question please.
I have emailed Wilderness Lodge and got a very prompt reply with regard to safety hats and whether they supplied them or not. I have not yet recieved a reply from Horseworld so those of you that have been there can you tell me if they also supply safety hats. My hubby will not let us go if we arent wearing the relevant stuff and Wilderness Lodge DO provide them.
Thanks

Yes, Horse world do supply hats. They make you sign a waiver if you choose not to wear them so you will be ok.I do recommend them - I couldn't fault anything (and if you kbnow me, that's unusual :D )
