Is anyone else paranoid about their buggy/stroller getting nicked while it's in a stroller park or is it just me??!! Last time we were there we left the buggy outside of the official stroller parks and someone moved it - I was going mad because I thought it had been stolen! It was probably a CM tidying up the place so it's my own fault for just abandoning it! Anyway just wondered if anyone has ever had theirs stolen or if I am worrying unecessarily!

Never had any problems at all - I've been 3 times before with a stroller.

In saying that, I use our trusty old, well-travelled stroller so I doubt anyone would want it.

Just make sure you remove valuables from it when leaving it lying around. Also, if you are worried, pay a visit to Walmart and buy a cheapo one - they start at around $9!!! At that price you can just ditch it when you are finished with it.

No, I have no worries at all- there are 100s of strollers there, why would anyone steal mine?

They always get moved though, as people retrieve them they leave spaces near the wall, so the ones further out get moved in, otherwise the paths would be overrun with strollers.

I think a decent stroller makes for a good day in teh park - there is nothing worse than being hunched over a too small, hard to push cheapy stroller all day. I'd much rather take one that's easy to push, and that my dd is comfy in, and I have never worried about theft at all.

Strollers should be banned!!!

Then the walkways would be clear and our ankles wouldnt get bruised:wink

Dont start me on the "illegal" use of wheelchairs either or delete as applicable!

You obviously have no kids then what do you expect people to do with young children?

Yes we had ours (my nephew's) stolen from Epcot on our last day. It was only a cheapy one from Publix but still

However it had had beer spilled in it :erm: the day before when it was being used as a shopping trolley and it smelled like a wino's hat, so HA! to whoever pinched it. :D :D

We had no problems. We alternated between 2 singles & a double. Bought singles from walmart but realised we had made a big mistake as they didnt recline so we went to Kmart and found a cheap double which did recline was so much better as only one person was then tied up with pushing a pushchair while there were 3 adults to supervise the boys.

We also bought all of the pushchairs back with us. They are much more compact than the ones we had here and they were great this summer on public transport.

One tip that I did read but never actually tried out was that you tie a nappy bag onto the pushchair and in it have something that looks like a dirty nappy apparently it works really well!!

We left bags on our pushchairs and even those were still there after us being away from the chair for quite a while.

One hint was to buy a very cheap bandana/scarf in a very bright colour and tie it to one of the handles. Apparently people are put off taking it if it is "personalised". I also heard of the dirty nappy bag routine with root beer providing the authentic look.

I took a buggy for years and years .never had it stolen.. but if you buy cheap ones from the shops over there they may have just been taken by accident. I personally wouldn't want to walk around the parks with what looks like a dirty nappy sack ... ewww!

I always left either a cardi or something recognisable on it for easy spotting.

don't need one now but DD wishes she could still squeeze in one sometimes ..bless her

Well we thought that it might have been taken by accident, but there were no other similar strollers anywhere nearby.

We bought 2 for $10 each from Walmart one had a bright pink American Airlines on it the other didn't have anything & that was taken outside Shrek, they were next to each other, we took another one the same from further up the row thinking it was probably taken by mistake.

I would just like to confirm that they are indeed frequently tidied up by the CMs - no need to get paranoid !!!

We have been about 5 ir 6 times with buggy's and never ever had anything stolen and we always leave the bag with juice bottles change of clothes etc.
Well that is not strictly true we had some food go missing. But we saw the thieves in action ourselves at Seaworld.
THE SQUIRRELS. Saw them going into bags and buggy nets stealing anything they could carry foodwise. Very entertaining.!:p:

We had 3 ...yes THREE stolen in a 5 hour period in DLP...(part of the reason I detest the place with a vengence...

Even a French CM told me that he was horrified and embarresed of his countrymen...(not that it could be proven that it was french thieves!!!)

The buggys were even locked and must have been hell to push around by lifting the back wheels off the ground to use!!!

The mind boggles.

We too had one stolen from DLP! It was the oldest, wobbliest and unstylish stroller you could imagine but someone took it! I am sure no-one in the whole of Europe had one the same as that one! I got no help from the CMs and had a very miserable DD for a while. We had to hire a stroller the next day but that didn't help with carrying her back to the hotel at night.
