wheres hot enough to sunbathe?

Hi all,
Wheres the best place to go for a january, february holiday apart from long haul, wheres warm enough? any ideas? i know the canaries is the warmest but how warm is it? :p:

Second the dubai suggestion..we went in december, guaranteed sunshine, around a nice 28 degrees and only a 6.5hr flight from gatwick/heathrow.

Definitely gets my vote.

We went to Lanzarote, January 2003 and it was hot enough to sunbathe.

One point though, We were in a place without a heated pool so only a few very brave soles got in, my husband included. I've never seen him swim so fast from one end of the pool to the other. He was certainly bright eyed when he got out.

We were in Costa Tegise which is always quite windy but we were never cold. The holiday was fantastic.

Could try The Gambia, I've not been there since 1987 though! Steady 90

I second Lanzarote, we went to costa teguise in December 2000 was blissfully hot. We were only there a week and I was very brown, it is a little windy but hot with it and yes check that your pool in heated cos the water is very cold otherwise :D
