View Full Version : DLP at Xmas time
We are off to DLP for the first weekend in Dec to savour some of that Xmas spirit. Any tips or advice for Xmas specials there?

We went to DLP in December in 2001 and loved it. Obviously it's not the States and lacks the "razzamatazz" of the Americans but everything else was perfect. We had gloriuos sunshine, but it was very cold, just pack the right clothes! The coldness made it feel so Christmassy. My children were just turned 4 and 17 months at the time and their first taste of Disney theme parks! They had a ball. You must do the tree-lighting ceremony which happens every evening - really magical. Also the parade is lovely too. The "real" Father Christmas is there! My son knew it was the "real one" because he had brought his reindeer with him, who were pulling his sleigh! Father Christmas also signed autograph books, and each child who went to see him from many different countries all mamaged to talk to him as he spoke so many languages! It was lovely. Make sure you catch the shows as well.
Be prepared for the shoving in the queues, the europeans aren't too hot on standing in line! They shove their children to the front, (us Brits are just too polite!
We have said that we would definately go back, we just seem to end up back in WDW in October instead!! Well worth the trip, have a fantastic time and let us know what you thought when you get back.

We're off from the 3rd to the 7th January, which is still part of their Christmas celebrations. Will they still be doing the tree-lighting ceremony then, do you know?
Thanks Guys. I know that we will miss the German Xmas Market as that doesn't start until the following weekend - shame!
