Hello All

Not sure if someone may have mentioned this already, but I got an email update from the Orlando Convention Bureau this morning with some updates at changes for the Pointe....

"Pointe Orlando located directly across from the Convention Center, announced a major redevelopment project that adds to Orlando's already impressive upscale lineup. It will add four highly acclaimed restaurants to the list of tenants. They include:

The Capital Grille - the first in Orlando, will open in 9000 square feet and deature steak in an upscale, plush surrounding. Private dining will be available for groups and special events.

The Oceanaire will feature fresh seafood flowin in daily from around the world and served in a well-appointed setting. The daily printed menu is a testament to the quality of seafood that emphasizes seasonal preparations and regionally inspired dishes. The restaurant will be in 8500 square feet and the first in Central Florida.

Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe and Emporium will feature men's and women's clothing, accessories and home furnishings as well as a full-service restaurant with a relaxed, island theme. One of only six in the country, this 10000 square foot venue will feature the laid-back state of mind that is the Tommy Bahama philosophy

B. B. King's will be located on the second level of Pointe Orland in 10000 square feet. The venue will feature nightly entertainment including local, regional and national acts along with a full-service restaurant and bar.

Maggiano's, an Italian restaurant offering private rooms for group functions will open with 16000 square feet in what it calls a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of pre-World War II Little Italy with family portraits, leather banquettes and richly polished mahogany wood that will provide a warm ambience."

All sounds pretty good I think - we thought that the POinte was looking a bit tired and sad, so any redevelopment is definitely a good thing! :D

Sounds like it'll be a good place for a night out when it re-opens. I like the sound of B.B Kings!

That's great news. Really disappointed when we went to Pointe Orlando last month - loads of the shops had closed down and there was building work all over. Wonder if they have done anything with the old Schwartz building

I don't think that Hooters has gone, we went Sept last year and there has been a thread about it very recently. People were planning visiting.

I don't care whar they do as long as that open air bar , just past hooters is still open. Brillliant place and well worth a visit.
