I'm looking at going to DLP for the Christmas celebrations this year and have a couple of queries first. Hopefully all you DIBBers out there can help me!

1, Does Ashford (Eurostar) have car park where I can park my car for the duration I am in Paris (4 day stop)?

2, The brochure I was given from my travel agent is a company called Leger Holidays. Are these any job or do you recommend anybody else?

3,We are hopefully going to DLP around my DS b'day (he will be 7!), any suggestions of something special for his b'day?

I'm sure I will find more questions, but these should keep us going for a bit!

When in December Steve? We're going on December 15th for 3 nights....I'm clueless about your car though....the German Christmas markets on I think after the middle of December....and Grease the musicals on after the 14th....Legar would be a pretty reliable company..where are you thinking of staying?....I'm sure someone with young kids will be along to advise you on things to do for your sons b/day...whatever you do I'm sure he'll love it

Travelling on the 4th Dec, looking at staying at Santa Fe. Would have liked to have gone around the same date as you but when I went on the website (Leger) they didnt come with anything on the Eurostar for around this date.

We're staying at the Sante Fe too...It's an ok hotel...maybe not the prettiest Disney hotel to look at....but it's all we need for all the time we'll spend in the room....we're slumming it by coach....lol yes all the way from Scotland...I'm a sucker for punishment...but for my Christmas Disney fix....worth it

You'll love the "Christmasy" feel of DLP (in fact I preferred DLP at Christmas to WDW I wondered if it was the heat  , it didn't seem right celebrating Christmas in shorts  , DLP though can get VERY cold). We liked it so much that we're booked for the end of November for a weekend and pushing the boat out by staying at the pink palace in Castle Club:jump: . This is our Christmas present to ourselves.

1. We've used Eurostar before in one of our trips and there is a car park accross the road from the actual station, linked by a bridge which we used for the length of our stay, not cheap, but very convenient.

2. I personally haven't used Leger but know that they are one of a few that specialise in DLP. It is worth checking the official brochure though as they have proved cheaper in the past (though not in this occation for us Thomas Cook was - though we're still going with the official one as they could guarantee obtaining a Castle Club room)

3. Don't know what I can suggest for a birthday treat as have only ever done one "special" experience at DLP and that was breakfast at Walts in the park and that was very good! and meant you were in the park before most people and got character interaction whilst having a splendid breakfast, our DS was nearly 8 but really enjoyed it.

In any case book a Fantasy land breakfast for at least one day of your trip, if they are available, as this is like normal hotel breakfast, in one of the restaraunts in the park and if you get an early time you can then beat everyone else to that rare ride on Dumbo and any other popular ride. I don't think you pay extra for this breakfast if you are staying in a Disney hotel.

Hi, I used Ledger holidays to go to DLP for new year in 2001. They were great or at least one driver was to cut, a very long story short we eneded up getting on the wrong coach at Victoria completely our fault, once the driver realised we were already at the ferry. He was due to be taking passangers to paris hotels and we were staying at a disney resort hotel. he radioed the company who suggested he let us off the coach in calais and have to wait for next coach about 3 hours. The driver was having none of it and told us if we didn't mind waiting while he dropped off in Paris he would take us to the resort. On his last drop off on Paris he brought us cups of hot chocolate on to the coach. when we arrive eventually at the hotel he booked us in and carried our bags to our room, considering we had caused the problem I was amazed at the service. He certainly earnt a big tip. We stayed in the hotel cheyanne which was fine and easy to walk to the parks from so no hanging around for coaches, the only problem we experienced was the weather it was minus 8 on new years eve, which at least meant there was no waiting around for the parades people huddled in the shops until it passed then run out for a few minutes to see it go by. hope some of this helpS

Dawn

Hi Steve,

We will be coming back on 4th Dec, having arrived on the evening of 2nd.

As for birthday treats we celebrated my DD's 3rd birthday there in May. We started off with a character breakfast at Walts on Main Street, did the birthday tea at Plaza Garden Restaurant and the character dinner at Inventions in the Disneyland Hotel.

Walts was so-so, the birthday tea was worse. We have previously done The Lucky Nuggett Saloon and would rate this as better. Inventions was good.

At whichever one you fancy, when you make the reservation you can also book a birthday cake. If you do this they bring it out with a character with sparklers and everyone singing a Disney version of Happy Birthday that everyone claps along to, accompanied by one or more of the characters. My DD's verdict was "its a lovely party!" For the cake you can have vanilla sponge or chocolate sponge for about £20 or an ice-cream gateau (much nicer) for about £28. Not cheap but worth it.

Not birthday themed but the Buffallo Bill Show in Disney Village might appeal to a 7 year old too.

It now looks like I will be going in the last week of Nov due to unforeseen work commitments, does this make any difference to seeing certain things?

No. Xmas season starts 5th Nov. You might get a better deal http://www.disneymagicalchristmas.com/index.php?l=uk&c=uk
for arrivals 9-30 November and 11-20 December you can get 3nights/4days for the price of 2/3. If you must travel with Leger you might get a discount if you mention this.
