View Full Version : Tips for the Animal Kingdom
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for any tips you may have for the Animal Kingdom to add to the New DIBB website.
I have lots of old tips but I'd rather use more upto date ones. So if you have any tips for the Animal Kingdom, Attractions, Rides, Restaurants, Parades etc and you would like to see them on the website then please post them here.
Cheers.

The main one I can think off is to use the entrance in the Rain Forest cafe to save time.

Take a change of clothes (even undewear) as you WILL get soaked on Kali River Rapids:D
Also on this ride keep your feet off the floor especially if you are wearing trainers so they don't get soaked :wink

Remember that there are no drinking straws in AK (or Sea World) because of the litter aspect and danger to animals. My daughter once chucked nearly a whole cup of Coke down her when the ice started to tumble out. If you can, buy some of those hard plastic novelty straws and stick them in a rucksack. It's better to wash out a straw than to have a child covered in Coke!

Pick up a times guide when you enter the park and plan your day around the shows you want to see, as it is quite hard to fit them all in.

Take plenty of sunscreen, hats etc as nearly every attraction is outdoors, also drink plenty of water and remember your misting fans as it does seem to be very hot and humid in AK, due to the environment thay have created.
If you have little ones head to camp minnie mickey first thing, we did and got to see mickey, minnie, goofy and donald without any queues at all

There is a character meeting area just as you enter Dinoland its on the left and you could almost miss it. There's Pooh, Piglet, Tigger - we went at about 4:30 in the afternoon and had them all to ourselves
Go for your lunch in the RFC. It gets you out of the sun during the hottest part of the day and the food is really nice.
If you've got young kids it's a must.
Camp Minnie Mickey is a great place to meet the characters as the queuing area is undercover so you're shaded from the sun.

I agree the spot to meet Pooh and friends is a great tip, most people don't notice it. Even at Christmas it wasn't crowded. However I'm sure it's on the RIGHT as you enter Dinoland.

Rememer if you can to ride the Kilimanjaro safari first thing in the morning. The animals seem to be more in the open and moving around.

Visit the MJTrek in Asia to see the Tigers running around at 4 pm….very active then
Must see the Lion King show and then exit via Pumba and go straight…this is where the Fab 5 (characters) hang out …a great picture opportunity.
Best place to eat is Tusker House in Africa (it is air-conditioned)
Talk to the International representatives form the various countries…especially the ones in Asia…It is always fun to learn new things about their home countries.
Lots, lots of sunscreen
See Tarzan Rocks a good show
Best place to see the Parade…between Asia and Africa…ask a CM where Lower Bradley Falls is….(a seasonally opened drink shack is there)…this area is in the shade and there is no viewing areas across from it so…. You get all of the characters attention…a great spot for pictures…
Take you TIME….not only is this a great park….with some wonderful animals and attractions it is also a beautiful botanical garden…it has 850 different species of tress and 2500 species of plants…
