It's listed in the 2004 Brits guide to Orlando, but on our last trip in 2003 DW insists it wasn't there.
Anyone know for definite, would be nice for once if she was wrong.
Yes, it's gone. Now Stitch encounter.

It looks like Alien encounter had its last day on 11th October 2003.
Stitch was opened in its place on 16th November 2004.
Hope this gives you the right result?!!

Alien scared the pants off me the first time I went on it. Stitch it too cute and likeable to pull this off in my opinion. I was rooting for Stitch all the way ....oops
We did this several times as Stitch is Teri's favourite character ever.... gone are the princesses and in are Stitch and the villains

What??? No alien encounter anymore!!!!!!
I'm really annoyed, especially seen as alien encounter was quite thrilling and scary- one of the few at magic kingdom.

How scary is Stitch's Great Escape?
Bear in mind I loathe Dinosaur and It's Tough to be a Bug, but I love Terminator 23D and Tower of Terror. :D

I have memories of Alien Encounter..................
It was our very first day in Florida, we went to Magic Kingdom very early, we were banging on the gates at 7:45am, they opened at 8:00am.
We were first in the park and wow what a miagical place this was, we headed up Main Street we were all very excitied, we turned right at the castle and jumped into the first ride we came to. Alien Encounter.
Not what I was expecting, quite scarey and youngest DS crying his eyes out. LOL
I'd love to see it again though.

Yes, there have been many threads asking the question "why oh why did Disney chnage this attraction..?"
We loved Alien Encounter and could not believe it when they changed it over to Stitch...!

On the original alien encounter what was the name of the pick alien that gets disintigrated.
My wife loved that alien but we never bought the toy in disney so I was going to have a look on ebay to suprise her but I cant remember the name of it.
thanks

What exactly is the Stitch ride? We didnt get a chance to do it last time as the queues were always soooo long:rolleyes:
Is it an actual ride or is it 3D.
Thanks, sorry to hijack the thread.

The usual walk through a couple of sets which build the scene for a sit down 'experience' is the best way I can describe it without giving away too much. Similar to a simulator with Stitch escaping into the room where you are and things happening to your seat. As others have said, a lot of this happens in very reduced lighting to add to the effect. DS of 9 loved it when we went in Aug but DD, 12, came off in tears. What's the phrase-You can't please all the people all the time.

Stitch is just a child friendly Alien Encounter.
Not much has changed apart from the kids are not traumatised when they exit the show.

Ah, it was skippy and thanks to a rather informative website:
"Skippy," an alien seen previously in The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter attraction, returns in a new role in Stitch's Great Escape!
Not yet seen it myself, but might still be around!
