Los Cristianos in Tenerife

Hi,

Has anyone been here - what's it like? Our friends parents are wanting to do a swap with us for our villa, they have a 2 bed apartment in this resort. I'm not particularly into noisy touristy places which loads of British bars etc so I'm not too enthusiastic about the idea to be honest. Just looking for a quiet week in the sun with plenty of good places to eat, child friendly, etc. Can't afford to go to Florida again next year unfortunately, we have had 2 trips there this year! Can anyone advise?

Hi Michelle,

I went to Tenerife with my family a few years ago and as far as I can remeber Los Cristianos was lovely. It wasn't as built up as the main resort areas such as Playa de las Americas and would be a lovely reosrt for a family.

I would think your friends were getting the better deal but, then again, if they want off peak weeks from you where you won't be likely to book up anyway.

Los Cristianos is one of the quieter resorts and should be lovely for a family break.

Actually they want Spring Bank Holiday week, we will be doing a part exchange rather than a straight swap.

Comepared to Las Americas, it's a soundproof box.

we went in 2001 and it was lovely, nice and quiet and the resort itself is very geared up for families, the one thing i didn't like tho was the food:( i did find it very typical 'touristy' food tho with those horrible pictures of the plates outside the resaurants. oh and watch out for the cockroaches:eek: :eek: :eek: i swear one was attacking us on the beach, it didn't matter how many times i flicked it away it kept running back to us and it was the size of DH's fist:cry:

Have been a few times and it is a lot quieter that Playa de Las Americas and would recommend it for a young family. Also quite close to Airport and cheap to get to by taxi.

Get an early flight to avoid the queues (Arrivals Taxis) at the Airport.
