Im hoping someone out there can advise me on the following, I'm looking at booking 2-3 nights from the 6th December and I can get good deals at either the sequioa Lodge(Not sure if thats spelt right  ) or the Newport Bay club. Just wondered what you guys would reccomend?

Can't believe I'm thinking of going, It will be 3 disney trips in the space of 6 months

We have stayed in standard rooms in both and loved them too! SL was rustic and dark furniture. We loved the pool which is housed in a separate building from the main 'hotel' attached by covered walkway and has an outside piece used in mild weather. However standard rooms can be in main building or other ones dotted around so if you dont want to walk too much consider a Montana room (these are in main bldg). We didnt think much of food but as it was walking distance round lake to Disney Village it didnt much matter. The NPB was crisp and white/blue (nautical) and the pool was really clean. We found it very large to get your bearings in the hotel and really busy. The pool was always quite crowded. It felt like a longer stroll to the back of the Disney Village from there but the setting at the head of the lake is wonderful. I think though I preferred the SL as it seemed cosier and less hustle/bustle. Whichever you choose I hope you have a great experience!!

I haven't been to NPB but SL is absolutely goregeous, really wonderful bar area, large, attractive rooms, really cosy!

SL has the best Christmas decorations of any DLRP hotel IMHO .

Another vote for the Seq Lodge. It's all log cabin like and I think it would look best at Christmas. It's also a really short walk to the park and you can get lake view rooms for a supplement (still probabaly cheaper than NB).I'd agree the food isn't great although we only tried one restaurant , if you've got a sweet tooth though the sweet buffet is worth a go .:wink

We have stayed at both hotels and preferred SL for the theming and size of the place. Admittedly we stayed in the main building at SL but our room at NB was miles away (slight exaggeration)

If we did ever return to DLP we would like to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, that looks wonderful.
