downtown disney

hi is there much to do in downdown disney we have two little ones 6yrs and 3yrs and we have a 7 day prem ticket for the disney parks so once you are in downtown disney is everything included in the admin price or do you still have to pay extra for cinema and such like.
do pleasure island let children in some pubs or is it over 21yrs only.

Hi Kaz....Downtown Disney's free to wander around....but no you have to pay for admission to the cinema...As far as I know Pleasure Island is only for over 18's who are with an adult....lol If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will be along to say....I love spending time there...but not sure if your kids will get much out of it apart from the lego place....they'd love the water fountains too

They will love the Disney Store there, it's huge!

It's really worth doing.....always a real Disney atmosphere.....not sure if they still do it..but they used to have a kiddies disco on the stage outside the big Disney store

Children can go into the clubs (except BET Soundstage and Manniquins (sp?) ) as long as they are with an adult 21 or over. They are given a coloured band to wear around their wrist. The kids will love the toy shops, try Once Upon a Toy, they can build Mr Potatoheads in there!

You certainly can!, unless they have recently changed their ruling. This was certainly the case BEFORE they took away the main entrance, you now have to pay for entering the clubs, not just Pleasure Island itself. ( This does not cause a problem if you have passes with Pleasure Island option on them). This now means anybody can walk around Pleasure Island at night, they just can't enter the clubs. You can still buy drinks outside the clubs but be prepared for the price!. They have no price lists especially for this reason!!:eek:

There is also Disney Quest. You need to pay admission to get in here unless it is included on your Disney passes. Walt Disney World® Resort - DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park

We are staying on International Drive opposite Wet n Wild, please does anyone know the best way to get to DTD using public transport, or is it walkable?!

DTD is quite a distance from I-Drive, best mode of transport is taxi:beer:

I Drive To DTD by public transport.

we emailed lynx a while ago asking this question and here is there reply.

On Interbational drive take the Lynk #8 heading south departing at 8:09am
the fare is $1.25 exact change. Please ask the operator for a free transfer as you will be transfering to another bus. you will arrive at sea World at 8:20am.
From Sea World transfer to the Link 50 heading to disney World departing at 8:39am. Please slide your transfer through the fare box to avoid paying another fare. You will arrive at the Disney Ticket and Transportation Center at approximatly 8:57am
From there Disney supplies their own free transportation to Downtown Disney.

unfortunately once at disneys TTC theres not a bus to DTD, u need to get another bus to a disney resort( not a park) and from there get a bus to DTD:beer:

Thanks for the info Steve. i will contact them again asking if they have any more information. I didn't go to DTD by bus last year as we had the car but thought i saw 1 headding theat way with disney on side. Must get sis to check it out if she gets a chance when she gets there before us.
