This ride is awesome! It is a unique coaster, quick, smooth and the beginning is the best part. Similar in speed at the start as Aerosmith but Aerosmith is in the dark. It is much better than Kraken. While your there you might as well do Duelling Dragons.:jump:

If you can ride Kraken then the Hulk is no problem

The Hulk is my favourite. Can't say that I am a particularly brave person but really love this ride. You have really got to give it a try. Also, really proud of myself as I went on Sheikra the new ride at Busch twice last month.

As BCKloon says if you can ride Krakken then ANY of the others will be fine.

I LOVE this ride...it is great but then I am a HUGE rollercoaster enthusiast!
I must tell you though that someone was so scared when we were there that they wet themself..how embarrasing! The staff member had to come along and clean the area with this drying salt stuff and scoop it up!! So moral of that story is go on with an empty bladder!!! xxx

Hulk is a bit like RnR and Kraken combined. It starts off with speed, but not as fast as RnR and then loops you madly like Kraken.
However I disagree with Stevejnr292 - Kraken is much smoother than Hulk (the only smoother is Montu at BG), but Hulk is much smoother than RnR.
Go for it. And then do Dueling Dragons. Both of them. Several times one after the other :D

Right, thats it! I am never going to do the Hulk if Kraken is smoother. I was a quivering wreck after Kraken.

The Hulk bashes your head about a wee bit....but you've still got to do it...it's fantastic.....just leave the Pat Butcher earrings off for it...nothing makes me scream like the Hulk does...

Just do it. with me if my DS (12) will go on then Mum is going to do it as well, so I have to go on them all:D
I am or should i say was, petrified of Coasters. I did Kraken first and liked it but I stood watching the Hulk for about an hour and REFUSED to get on.
My hubby wouldn't go on his own and I felt really sorry for him SO I went on.
I was petrified and that blast off scared me senseless but after that I loved it, it isn't any faster than Kraken, I wouldn't say and there are no big stomach lurching drops because it is so smooth.
Go on you will love it!
And I agree once you have done the Hulk, do the dragons, both of them, that was a brilliant ride.
The only thing I wouldn't do again would be Doctor Dooms fearfall that left me a wreck the blast off is HORRIBLE!!!!
Good Luck!

The Hulk is a fantastic ride and I personally think one of the best coasters out of the lot. Kraken I found quite tame compared to the Hulk. Duelling Dragons is very good too, being a coaster where your legs dangle (track above your head) it pulls some really tight turns for the G force junkie. Must admit, it was a weird feeling when you get to within about a foot of the other coaster. I've got to go back to do all the newer coasters in BG, still haven't done the Kumba yet. I have also got to go to California and do Knotts Berry Farm, that looks filled with top coasters!:jump: :jump: :jump:

I love the coasters but DH hates them. No matter what we said DH insisted on holding the bags whilst I went on the Hulk with DB and his DGF. I was really looking forward to this as hadn't managed to go on in the previous 2 visits. Anyway, the ride was cracking and a must. HOWEVER, it banged my head something rotten and I felt SO sick afterwards. I thought this was the scariest of all the rides I've been on including Kraken which I went on when I was pregnant and didn't know!!!!!!
Be warned. We all felt so sick after riding the Hulk that we left the park!!!!

Me and my brother managed this coaster three times in a row, literally walking off then going straight back on! I would do it again too!:p: :jump:
We then went and rode both trains one after the other on Duelling Dragons!

It seems ages ago that I had to convince DD to go on Air at Alton Towers but couldn't get her on Nemesis. However, this Summer she was dragging me and DW on every coaster going. We all loved Hulk so much that we also did the run off-straight back on routine and queued for the front row. DS who was only 9 was gutted that he was 1/2 an inch too small to do Hulk. This after he did Dr Doom whilst he sister caffled at the last minute. By Aug 2006 he will be big enough to do everything and it makes the holiday so much better if the whole family can do rides together rather than having to choose people to sit out with non riders
It's the best ride we went on (12 times)!!!
It assaults your senses in every way. It looks great, sounds great and is an absolute bitch to ride.
I'd go on it right now if I could:D

The Hulk is absolutey awesome. If anyone has watched House On Haunted Hill at the beginning, that is the Hulk ride (but with the track intact!) I rode on it 5 times in a row and it by far beats any rollercoaster in the uk. Try it, it'll be fine and there are very secure safety restraints too!

DS 9 did RnR, Duelling Dragons and The Hulk Coaster but was scared to do Kraken? He said he will do it when we go next year though.
I didn't do any, did RnR in Paris and thought it was the worst thing that ever happened to me!

You survived Kraken and R'n'R. What you got to lose?

The Hulk is fine, must have been on it around 15 times in the last 2 weeks with DS, tip - the lines tend to be long in the morning (30 mins) then after lunch or early afternoon is almost a walk on, do it, you will love it. We spoke to an Irish girl who's boyfriend would not go on, so she came with us and loved it.
Duelling Dragons is not so smooth as the Hulk, but is great, back row of ICE is the best, rode this one around 6 times
Dr Doom - rode it once - the lift and drop was awasome but very short, expected to be up and down more than once
The Mummy - fantastic, rode about 20 times at least, lot of times used single rider line
Kraken - loved it, absolutely fantastic, rode it about 6 times
R'N'Roller coaster - great start but thought it was tame compared to the others, rode about 3 times I think
T of T - still great - rode it once
Sheikra - rode it twice, short ride but the 2 vertical drops are awsome, and under the coaster as it exits the water gets very wet - worth a look!
Kumba - thought this was a fantastic coaster
Montu - thought this was the best coaster of the lot
Gwazi - very good - a little rough
I've been upside down more in the last 2 weeks than the rest of my life! Nothing big enough or fast enough for DS

Hulk is Faaaaantastic!! If the queues are light go on the front row, it's the best.

R'n'R is Paris is a extremely "rough" ride*. The Hulk is much smoother and, as someone else pointed out, has a great restraint system so that you always feel secure. I rate it as one of the truly great roller-coasters.

*but if you want REAL rough, try Gouderix at Parc Asterix! It will shake the fillings out of your teeth.

For real coaster fanactics the middle rows are actually the best for experincing the forces involved on the Hulk.
Front row gives the best view.

My DD 12 decided 3 days before the end of the holiday that she was going to try the big coasters. This meant that we had to redo all the big coaster parks  :D Hulk was the first and bless her she stood in the queue with tears rolling down her cheeks.... we didn't force her.... honest...... she was given the chance to back out right upto the last minute, but she didn't and she loved it. She was hooked, Duelling dragons was next... she loved it... then off we went to Kraken.. she loved it. :D
Oh and we had to have the photo to prove it to her mates. :D

DH has said that the start is very good as you set off at a fantastic speed

The hulk is really hard to describe, its a lot smoother and calmer than krakken or duelling dragons, however it still has a different edge to it, with a combination of speed and sharp turns. As it goes, hulk is my favorite dispite in my opinion being more of a moderate coaster!

i was the exact same!!!! I absolutely LOVE rollercoasters and i was so disapointed that Hulk made me feel this way...
it was still thrilling and not too scary for me, but the way it bashed my head around meant I wasnt able to enjoy the ride. Felt so sick afterwards I had to take it easy for the next hour or so. Gutted!

I was scared on Kraken because it is so high, but I absolutely loved the Hulk. The acceleration in the beginning is wicked. I found it smooth, didn't get jerked about at all and would definately ride Hulk again although I would give Kraken a miss.:pgig:

maybe the head bashing that made me sick would depend on where on the coaster we sat? any roller coaster experts care to share their knowledge?
Hey guys this is an old post. OP posted in Oct 05 and went in Feb 06 - doesn't eman you can't carry on though just thought you'd like to know.

Do the hulk it is great and you must do the dragons and be brave and do doctor doom fantastic view:wave: :pgig:
If you can do Kraken, then The Hulk will be a piece of cake!! My DH and our youngest son will go on anything, the madder the better!! They found Kraken to be the maddest of the lot, then Duelling Dragons and then The Hulk. The Hulk is their favourite. :-)

If you 've done kraken then hulk is no problem. If you decide to do duelling dragons then queue for the front row - extra 15 minutes or so but well worth it.

DW & DD went on the Hulk twice in a day - the first time just after the park opened and another time about 2pm. (I chickened with DS!!)
They mentioned that the second ride was much faster and less smooth than the morning ride....
Question for coaster experts - do rides get faster as the grease/wheels etc warm up?

One word
"AWESOME"
Don't Miss it!!
I did the Hulk for the first time in 4 visits and I ony wish I had done it sooner. I found it smooth, fast and I wasnt thrown around. RnR still scares the life out of me but the Hulk was easy peasy and such fun!
