Rather a stupid question but are TV Crews allowed to film in Disneyworld or Disneyland?

I remember reading years back that NBC wanted to film Chandler propose to Monica infront of Cinderella's castle in Flordia for Friends but Disney refused them permission?

Made me think that I havent ever seen Disneyworld or Disneyland appear in any TV Program or film. Do Disney not allow it, or has it appeared in some.

What about Travel programs like Holiday - are they allowed in for that?

I know Universal let them film 'House on the Haunted Hill' (I think that was it) and they also let them show 'The Hulk' come off its track  but haven't seen Disney.

I know for sure that an episode of Sabrina was filmed in Disneyworld. The filming was done in Animal Kingdom just before it opened. Hundreds of the casts family members were invited to try out the park and were able to watch the filming!

Holiday programmes do film in WDW, as they always seem to get their own private chgaracter greetings as part of the deal. But you're right, thinking about it, I don't remember seeing any part of WDW in anything else.(I don't watch Sabrina!!)

You would think that Disney would see the benefit of having the right things portrayed in their 'world'

I saw Patrick Duffy (Man from Atlantis / Dallas) being filmed in in MGM once. I don't know what it was for but he sure had a lot of make up on!!

We were there once and they were filming but it may have been for the Disney Channel. It was when the Hunchback of Notre Dame first came out.

Quasimodo was standing there with the presenter (one of the aunts from Sabrina the teenage witch prog) with some children. There was a really pushy Mom trying to get her children up to the front - she was a nightmare! Anyhow, when they started filming I did a double-take. Who was actually standing between Quasi and lady, holding both their hands??????? My little grand-daughter :erm: and when Quasi went off up the road - whose hand was he holding - YES you guessed it!!! I think they thought she was one of the actor kids and she had slipped under the barrier. Shame I never got to see the episode! :pgig:

While we were there last month, we saw some of the 7 drawfs being filmed with basketball players in MGM. One of the players was famous according to DH but I don't remember what name he said it was. Think it was NBC filming, but I didnt take that much notice as the people werent famous enough for me...lol.

Disney owns ABC so I would 'guess' that ABC programmes are more likely to film in Disney than other channels.
I am sure there was an episode of the Brady Bunch where they went to Magic Kingdom but you are talking 20+ years ago.
