There were kids of around that age riding it when we were there. As long as they meet the height requirement of 44", it is up to you. It is a very intense ride so if they are not too keen on the simulator kind of ride I would be wary, by all accounts it has made a lot of people sick and that could really ruin your day. Personally I decided to give it a go and loved it, it is a great experience.

Like Loadsa says....it's really intense.....but an amazing experience....maybe you should ride it first Gaynor....then you'll have an idea whether your kids will enjoy it....it's my fav ride now....I could so become an astronaut

I rode it last year and I was as sick as a dog!
:D  :wink
But I have never been good at simulators so I suppose it served me right!
Having said that - I do not regret going on it - it's amazing!
:D
My DH and DS's (13 & 14) were fine. I would suggest that if your kids are OK with Star Tours, BTTF and the simulator in the Wild Arctic @ Seaworld then they will be OK with Mission Space. If they feel a bit dicky on a normal simulator then make sure they go on with an empty stomach.
BUT DON'T MISS IT - IT'S INCREDIBLE

Agree with the answers so far. I tried it and thought it too intense for DD6. There is no way DW would ride as she gets motion sickness watching ice cubes melt!
The effects are very strong (especially the launch - sustained positive g's), the interior "claustrophobic" to some, the malfunction towards the end could easily scare a younger rider, and the potential for being sick is huge (keep looking ahead and keep breathing normally!).
Biggest advice - ride this about 90 minutes after a reasonable sized meal whilst well hydrated with an empty bladder. Do not ride on an empty stomach or you will be motion sick through low blood sugar.
It is my favorite ride of the holiday.

thanks for those replies-journey to atlantis was the 1st ride of the hols last year and DS got scared when it did the last turn,so much that it put her off all other rides.we had to literaly drag her on to the spuiderman ride which she loved and had to ride it a few times more.we did all the other simulators like the one at sea world etc?She loved test track too!

I agree with all the above, myself and DS (13) must have rode about 10 times, thought it was fantastic, but someone was sick in the vehicle next to us - there are sick bags available. We had no problems but we like simulators and coasters.
