View Full Version : Hiring the Magic Kingdom

Last week whilst in the 33 degree heat rather than the 10 here in Gloucester, I went to the California Grill.

We were late getting there as we couldn't tear ourselves away from the Pool at the Hard Rock Hotel.

So we arrived at 9:40pm, getting a window seat (easy at that time of night) and not expecting any fireworks.

However!

It turned out that Gardner Aerospace, as well as filling up the Dolphin Hotel, had hired the Magic Kingdom for the evening.

...and paid for a private showing of Wishes at 11pm to boot!

Yey.

So, as well as enjoying the view of said display, I got to wondering....

How much does this all cost?

Any ideas anyone? I found the corporate info .PDF, but no prices.

Well put it this way...I don't think this year's pay rise will cover it if you or I wanted to hire it! lol

I see that you are in Gloucester, I was born and grew up there, which part of Gloucester do you live in?

Hi Diane!

I live near the Golden Valley motorway junction, halfway between Cheltenham and Gloucester =)

I grew up in Tewkesbury.

Ah yes! The Golden Valley, spent many nights motoring up and down there to go clubbing in Cheltenham!

I grew up in Hucclecote then moved further into the city when I was older. Went to Ribston Hall, worked at Severn-Trent Water (Gloucester rather than Southwick Park.)

I hardly recognise the place when I return to visit friends (was up there a couple of weeks back actually) - its a huge city now.

Where do you work?

Diane :D

I think if you have to ask, then you can't afford it ;)

Perhaps we could all club together and book it for a Dibb party.

I was chatting to my mate that works in Epcot he is an events manager lots of hires are done at Epcot all the time. The price would vary greatly depending on what you want. Rides( more staff needed), food, full sit down meals, fireworks, hotel rooms. The full package can set you back over $300k-$1m!! To hire a park. The MK is the most expensive and in the whole only a handfull of rides are run if people want that, he said most want food and fireworks. They do more of these at MGM than the other parks as it is small and easy to manage as areas can be closed off, usually the entrance doen to the theatre and then down Mickey Ave to TOT is open and they run TOT, RNR and GMR and have a firework show that they used to run a few years ago.

Oh how cool is that! :D

I remember when we stayed at the Dolphin once, there was a really big conference on, and they had brought in loads of stuff - inflatables, cabanas, music playing - and just transformed the pool area, it was absolutely fantastic to look at - we must have been walking round with our jaws on the floor! ;)
