Well, this time next week we will be safely on our way to Hong Kong! Can't wait - we've been counting down the months since January, and now November is finally here and we are almost on our way.
Next Sunday 12.30 we get to the airport, relax in the BA lounge, being pampered with a glass of champagne and a massage or something before being called to board, then jetting off (for 12 hours!) to Hong Kong. We arrive at about 3pm the next day, so a quick look around locally before an early jet lagged night, so we can set off the next day to HK Disney!!!
Will be excellent fun, seeing a brand new (well month old) park and sampling the rides, comparing to WDW and DisneyLand, seeing the different cultures inside and the parades etc. Bet the atmosphere will be brilliant, and I think the weather will be warm and sunny too (like here in UK!!)
Then after 3 days in HK, we are off to Perth, then Sydney for 4 nights and then 12 in New Zealand, including Whale Watching, Wine tasting (mmmm), 4 Wheel Drive trecks, seeing the 'Mighty Milford Sound' ['where the mountains meet the lakes'] and finishing off with a balloon ride at sunrise (with a 4am start!!) over New Zealand - should be fantastic, even though I am a bit scared of heights! Home on Nov 29th, so a long way off.
Hopefully should be a fantastic holiday.
Cheers.
That sounds fantastic. Is it all a package? We are interested in going to HK to see Disneyland but can't find any info on the web.

We built it up, block by block, using the company Travel2 (.com) where you can 'pick and mix' your own itinery and they book everything for you. For HK Disney, we are doing it off our own back, because of only being there for 3 days we didn't want to pre-book anything just incase something came up and we did not want to tie ourselves down. All being well we are going day 2, probably getting public transport or a cab there and buying our ticket on the gate. Adds to the fun I guess, but at least we have a bit more freedom. Here http://www.disney.com.hk/en/index_flash.html is the link to Disney Hong Kong.
The rest of the holiday we looked on the net, saw what the best places were and just added it on bit by bit - Travel 2 suggest tours of 1,2 or 3 days and you can choose what you want, location by location. We used them to OZ 2 years ago and would reccommend.
Cheers.
Thanks, Ian. That's really helpful.

Hi Ian, Have a brilliant time. Looks like you're going to beat us to Hong Kong Disneyland.
We set off on our Asian Adventure - The Mickey & Mulan Tour - this Wednesday. First we have a few days in Singapore, then next stop is Hong Kong. Already pre-booked our tickets for HK Disneyland on Wednesday 9th Nov - I am sooooo excited !!
After a few days in Hong Kong we are off to Bangkok and then on to Phuket.
Our trip is a tailor made tour from Hayes and Jarvis. I told them what I was roughly looking for and they came up with suggestions. It always pays to do plenty of research on the internet ie decide on resorts, hotels etc. Booked a few excursions using viator.com
Bon Voyage (only 3 more sleeps till we set off !!!)

WOW! That sounds fantastic. We went to Singapore 2 years ago (I was born there but never been back since 6 months old) and we loved it - so courteous, friendly, cheap and clean with lots of fun to be had (night zoo, tea at Raffles, Orange Street shopping etc.) - people say they prefer it to HK, so it will be interesting to compare the 2 - complete opposites, but I am looking forward to the culture and atmosphere of HK and of course see how the Disney's compare!!
Interesting to hear what you have to say about it. Like me, it is always best to plan and pre-book and ask others opinions - I spent hours (months) trauling the net for hotels, best sights and sounds etc. so let's hope it all pays off for both of us - sure it will!
Have an amazing time, you lucky folk - 3 days for you, and 6 for us.....take care and Bon Voyage - ENJOY!!
PS. Can't wait to see Chinese Mickey!

Happy Hong Kong holidays to you people heading out there
Hope you enjoy Disneyland HK - I'm looking forward to visiting there in the not too distant future, especially since my brother was one of the architects. Check out the Stations and Main Street - that's his work
Hong Kong is a fantastic place to visit. There is so much diversity over there. Check out Stanley Market if you want to shop - make sure you haggle with the sellers, it's all part of life out there. There's the Hong Kong version of Sea World too. Pop over to Kowloon on the star ferry (go 'posh' - about 30p - to go top deck, specially if it's a clear day. Take the MTR (more stations of my bro's handywork! - most of the trains have personal seat back tvs). Make sure you have a ride in one of the cabs, they are hysterical - don't be alarmed when everyone drives at break neck speed . . . . As for the buildings, they are just amazing. Get up The Peak for dinner one night, the views during the day are pretty cool to, but at night it's quite beautiful watching all the lights coming on.
We enjoyed our stay there a few years ago and are really keen to head back.
