Hi,
It's been a hetic last couple of days so if you have asked questions and been ignored it's because we have had a million things to sort out and probably not seen your post :)
As you will no doubt be aware there are lots of changes, I can't gaurantee you will like them all but all the changes have been well thought out so we can balance good performance, security, privacy and userbility.
Some of the changes :-
• The Tech Forum is now called 'Guest Services' this is just a name change and any testing or cries for help should go in this forum
• Members list is not available - there is no need for a members list, it presents various security and privacy risks so it's not available. If you need to find a member then you can still use Search.
• Active Topics refresh, the New Posts shows a list of new posts but it no longer automatically refreshes. If you want it to refresh just click refresh on your browser or click the new post link again. Auto Refresh wasn't a good solution as many were complaining that they were losing the list of posts they hadn't read before they had actually read them all and so missed some posts. This was caused by the auto refresh.
• HTML code is not allowed in posts or signatures - You will need to use BB Code instead like [IMG] and [URL] - again this is for security
• Counters in signatures are no longer allowed - these present a security issue with all the lates exploits that are available to anyone in the know! They also had a performance issue on the forums and were not compatible with all the current browsers.
• Counters have now been totally re-written using our very own custom code and these can be added through the UserCP, Edit Options.
Regular members get to use a plain counter and AP Holders get to use different font colours and fancy backgrounds.
• Custom Avatars are now a perk available to DIBB Subscribers Only
• Signatures now have limits on the number of lines/graphics and graphic size. These are more generous for AP holders.
• We have added a New Chat System - this is currently in experimental stage and so may change in it's design and function
• Work is still progressing with the web pages as we didn't have the time we wanted to complete them before we had to upgrade.
• TOP Menu, there is now a top menu on every forum and web page, this menu is there to give you easy access to the information on our website. - Please do not post lins to other sites if the information is already on this site. Also check the front page for upto date articles and main menu options.
• You can now upload a picture of yourself into your profile (profile picture)
