Hi All
Our DD goes on a trip to France with the school next June and DH and I are looking at taking advantage and doing a short trip Monday - Friday. Dubai is one area we are interested in. Can anyone give us any pointers for heat (in June) and hotels as we don't want to be surrounded by building work. Also any good places to visit etc.
Thanks

Hi Jaybec
As I live in this part of the world can give you a brief on the weather in june............very hot, which is OK but they also have very high humidity.
If you are a sun worshipper no problem, thats outside everything else is air conditioned.... shopping is great and lots of entertainment (not sure when massive Dubai Land is open or the artificial indoor ski slope).
Dubai is a great place to visit and as there are 2 of you good fun and getting about is easy, places to stay my fav Jumiera beach actually most of the hotels are a high standard as they take tourism very seriously!

Hi
Dubai is great, have visited in Aug, Sept and Dec, with december definitely being a bit cooler. Like Mickey1 said june will be hot.
We returned from Dubai last month and most of the building work is from the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi down to the Sherton at the end of the beach. If you want to avoid the building work you are better looking a the hotels down by the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel area.
The Jumeirah Beach area is around 30 mins (traffic permitting) from the town centre where the gold & spice souqs are and some of the bigger shopping centres but most hotels run buses to get you there. If you need to get a taxi they are fairly cheap by our standards and charge a rate per KM.
A new mall had just opened when we were there, Ibn Battuta Mall, which isn't far from the Jumeirah Beach area. They were in the process of finishing The Mall of the Emirates, the one with the indoor ski slope that Mickey1 mentioned, so it should be open by now.
If you need any more info PM me, I'd be happy to help.
