A liitle advice needed please ...
Has anyone used a cheap hotel between The Chunnel and DLRP ?
We cross under the sea late on a Saturday night and just need a quick kip about an hour south of Calais before getting into the parks on Sunday morning .
Thinking of an Ibis ??
Thanks all .
If ever we drive down through France and need a basic stopover hotel we always choose PremiereClasse. Most rooms have a double bed with a single bunk over the top, TV with sleep-timer, an ensuite shower, basin and toilet. Some establishments have connecting rooms if you have a number of you travelling. They are a really good price, about 33Euros per room per night. They are accessible 24 hours a day, if you arrive in the middle of the night you can obtain a room by using the automated check-in (like an ATM machine) outside, just pop in your credit card and your details, the card will be debited and a slip of paper produced that gives you a pin-code entry for your room.
We have used this method at 2.00am before now with great success.
You can order a help yourself all-you-can-eat breakfast for about £2.50 each, this consists of cornflakes, french stick, brioche, butter, jam, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Nothing fancy but there is plenty of it and it means you can grab and go in the morning.
I have checked the website and there appears to be one in Calais, 3 either in or to the east of Dunkerque and 1 in Boulogne. They are always the same clean layout wherever in France you stop and they are usually situated on the outskirts of a town close to a main route or motorway.
We have stayed in loads of these and never found a bad one, remember you get waht you pay for but if all you want is somewhere clean and cheap to get your head down then this is the place :thumb: The website is www.premiereclasse.fr
Hope this helps.
