Which is the best moderate hotel stop in or is it better to stop outside disney resort. As It will be our first visit hopefully in May and does anyone know if all the parks open in May 2006.
Thanks

If you can afford it, then I would definitely stay onsite - it is wonderful.
Personally I prefer Port Orleans French Quarter, as it's nice and small, absolutely beautiful and I just love it!
But all the moderates have their benefits, it really depends on which theming appeals to you the most.
May is a nice time to visit the parks and everythign should be open.
We've stayed at CBR once and POFQ twice. We loved both of them and I would return to either. I think it depends on what theme you fancy, as Bev says.
Staying on WDW property deffo adds to the magic of a Disney holiday for us!
If you want to be immersed in the whole Disney experience, then it's the best way to go (IMO) :)

POFQ is also the smallest resport and for both of the PO resorts there is a boat to Down Town Disney.
I haven't stayed at Carribean Beach but have at Port Orleans (Riverside & French Quarter) and Coronado Springs. My favourite (for size and the boat to DTD) is Port Orleans French Quarter, but if I went for overall facilities I'd choose Coronado Springs.

Have stayed on both CBR and POFQ and would recommend either of them as both are very nice in their different ways, personally I liked POFQ just that little bit more but only because of its size and the fact you can get the boat to DTD from there.

We have only stayed at POFQ and it was lovely.
Check the Disney website or this one (http://allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.htm#moderate)for pictures and info on each resort and pick whichever one appeals to you most. They all have similar facilities and will cost the same, so just down to your taste for the theme really.

I have just come back from a visit where I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside but after visiting the French Quarter to use the food court and swimming pool I wished I stayed there instead. Riverside is by all means nice but French Quarter is smaller and so much quieter and subsequently the common areas (such as the food court and pool) are a lot more relaxed.
Riverside was mad at peak time in the food court and that's in early November when there are less people at Disney. Riverside does have a nice full service restaurant which the FQ lacks but it's so easy and quick to get to Riverside that FQ residents can use that. I didn't see the rooms at French Quarter but I know they are exactly the same size (which I thought was ample for the 3 of us) but have been refurbished recently so they would be even better.
Hope this helps.
Whichever one you choose, you're sure to have a fab time!

Does anyone know for sure if all of the rooms in disney moderate resorts have fridges included in the price? I read a lot about it over the summer and thought this was the case, but if you go on to the disney world website it still says fridges are an extra charge.
If anyone can help Id appreciate it as we're booked up for riverside and thought we'd be getting a fridge!

Riverside and Freanch Quarter have fridges, not sure about the other moderates but I would assume they do.

According to AllEars, all moderates now have room fridges. We had one in Coronado Springs in October.
Pam.
We had a fridge in our room at the CBR but we didnt really use it.

all moderate and deluxe resorts have fridges, and you can rent them in the values. They are only mini bar size but we managed to keep bottles of water, cans of pop, and milk in it for breakfasts, we also bought some yoghurts and cheese, crackers and butter for light snacks.

Personally - we would not stop at Coronado Springs again - combination of uncleaned room on arrival and decorators in our block while we were there, despite it being quiet until Memorial Weekend and other blocks being empty?? (stink of paint). Then there is the conference facility which ensured lots of suited types cluttering the place up!:D

Not fancy staying in a villa, have a look at the selection on the dibb, guaranteed a fridge :+)

PO Riverside ... stayed several times & absolutely loved it.

We did exactly the same, we were staying at PORiverside and went to FQ for lunch, I spent the rest of the day wishing we were at FQ and the following morning we went to reception and they moved us at no charge. I much prefered FQ, the size is a big bonus, but i also preferred the atmosphere and theming, the rooms are the same size as Riverside but feel much classier because the theming is 'posh' rather than 'rustic'.

I'd say POrt Orleans French Quarter, it is nice, it is also small so there is not too far to walk to the resturant etc. Only thing is it does not have a table service restruant. However, the boat ride to DTD is great.
