View Full Version : Can you request building/room preference after booking?

We booked Pop Century with Portland about 5 months ago and since doing that I've noticed people on here genereally request certain building/room locations.

WE'd like to request 50's or 70's building at Pop but is it too late to do this now we've booked. Do we need to ring/email Portland or Pop century itself?

Thanks in advance

I would contact Portland and have them note your request on the booking, a call to remind them nearer the time might help too, as I understand it, WDW resorts only allocate rooms a few days in advance of your arrival. Room requests are not guaranteed anyway, unless for special needs.
You can make a request at check-in too, if you find the room you have been allocated doesn't suit you. They will always try and give guests what they want.

I was going to ask just this question and wondered if its worth sending a fax to the WDW resort rather than going via the holiday booking Co.

I dont suppose anyone ever gets an upgrade to a suite or concierge at a delux?

I am pretty sure that they stopped the requesting rooms/building via fax. When I booked my room I was told to make any requests at the time of booking.

Preffered building at Pop Century is 60's

Fax's are no longer accepted as they were being swamped, your best bet is to contact your travel agent and also mention it when you check in.
Certain buildings are preferred and cost extra so you are unlikely to get those just on a request, but I am not sure which are the preffered buildings at Pop.

We went to pop century in July and as I wouldn't pay for preferred rooms (on priciple) I emailed Disney about 8 weeks before and requested the block we wanted, a high floor and non smoking room they emailed me back to say they would note the booking and we got everything I asked for. I only gave them my surname, arrival date and tour company not even the booking reference. The same worked at all stars 2 years ago.

Try it you can'/t lose anything and I trust Disney far more than a tour operator.

We went in september and was allocated a 50's room and it was excellent and would request it again even though it is quite a way from the main building. I would avoid the 60's building personally as it was so busy. I believe the 50's building is the least requested so you have got a good chance of getting it when you check in:cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

Ooh that's good to know, will def try that then!

Can you remember who you emailed at WDW by any chance?

What block did you stay in?

we always request ground floor when we check in, cause if you have a sleeping child in a stroller then stairs are not good - we have always had a ground floor room - I think that's the sort of request they are quite happy to grant. Please can I have room 1234 cause it's right by the pool and across from the food court might be a bit harder.

We stayed in the 70' it is a fair walk to the dining hall, but easy access from the car park were we always found a space. We don't like the people walking by round outside the window is why we ask for a high floor and the lifts are big and efficient. If you go to Disney.com not uk pick Walt Disney World resort and then contact us at the bottom of the screen fill in the template and reservations is a title they normal get back within 24 hours. Good luck :wavey:
