View Full Version : Disney Annual Pass
As I've got a trip already booked for December 2006 (through Virgin) and am looking to book for April/May 2007 (through Val), I'm thinking of getting an annual pass as this would work out cheaper for me than buying two separate lots of passes for the trips. Can anyone tell me what the benefits are, is it worth it?
Thanks

hi
if you intend to visit the parks for more than 11days then an annual pass is cheaper. you get a booklet with all the discounts. you also get to park free. saves $9 a day! we also don't feel guilty if we just go into the parks for a couple of hours and choose to have a meal there.

Hi Clare
We've booked our holiday through Val and she's been fantastic:thumbs-up
For the 4 of us we've ordered 3 @ 21 day passses through Virgin and then we have ordered 1 premium annual pass so that we can buy the DDE card (20% discount at Disney restaurants).
As we are staying on site the free parking doesn't effect us but I think the DDE will give us a big saving. I think the AP also gives you a 10% discount in the Disney shop at DTD as well as savings on room rate.
Bob & Dawn have AP's so they would be able to give you more info regarding these, as well as Val of course.

As Caron said you get the free parking the DDE card which could save you loads if you eat on site. You can also register for the best rate program and you might get a discount on your room rates if you are staying on site. The overall discounts are not that great - the main perk would be the saving on park admission over the two trips. We are getting two holidays out of our AP's
I think Stu posted a list of perks once (might be wrong) if he did and he can find it -he might be able to post it again.

From the Disney site:
'Benefits include:
Special Passholder events throughout the year, like attraction previews.
Merchandise discounts at select Downtown Disney® Area locations, including World of Disney® Orlando.
Food and Beverage discounts at select Epcot®, Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, Downtown Disney® Area and Walt Disney World® Resort locations, including Le Cellier Steakhouse, Olivia's Café and Wolfgang Puck® Express.
Periodic Walt Disney World® Resort room discounts
Plus, you will receive discounts on select Theme Park tours, golf, miniature golf, spa treatments and more!'
You also get free parking at theme parks which can save a fair bit if you aren't staying onsite and there is exclusive passholder merchandise. As already mentioned the DDE card $50 to passholders can save you more if you enjoy onsite dining, the discount is 20% off food and beverage bill.

we always use the AP just for the saving on admission we go into WDW every day we are there and last year went for 4 weeks
staying off site as members said above the saving on parking is a big benifit
one little thing we found that is never mentioned which is good if you collect pins there are some availiable for AP members only
we saw a really nice stitch christmas one last year andthe vendor refused to sell it us saying that it was only for pass holders it was the first we had ever seen like that and it was with great pleasure we showed him our AP and bought thepin

Hi what is the cost for these AP's, and where do you get them. Can they be bought in the UK.
Thanks Bob
I would recomend getting APs. Have a look here (http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm) for more info.

As you've got 2 trips planned i would say a definate yes to the AP. I had one this year for our 16 night trip. We saved a fortune on our room, we had the DDE card and saveda couple hundred dollars with that, plus we saved a fair bit on things we bought at world of disney as you get 10% discount with your AP. On our next trip we are staying offsite for either all or most of the 3 weeks. I'm still considering getting one AP for the free parking, and the discounts available. If we decide to stop onsite for the last week then any room discounts we get will be a bonus.
