Skateboarding icon Tony Hawk will be back in Orlando next month, this time bringing a new action-sports show to Universal Studios.

With Tony Hawk's Grand Jam, visitors to the theme park will see Hawk and some of the top action-sports athletes from the worlds of skateboarding, freestyle BMX and Moto-X perform a choreographed show emceed by Rick Thorne.

Hawk, who at the 1999 X Games became the first person to make the holy grail of all skateboarding tricks, the 900, is far more than an action-sports legend. He's also one of the world's most recognized sports personalities and a video-game superhero.

Tony Hawk's Grand Jam takes place on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 from 2 p.m.-6 p.m., with shows each day at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

One-day tickets are $39.95 plus tax in advance and $44.95 plus tax on the day of the event. VIP seating may be purchased for any of the four shows for $59.95 plus tax. The tickets give visitors access to the park during Grand Jam hours. The event also is open to regular-admission visitors.

Also performing will be pro-ranked athletes Kevin Staab, Jean Prostec, Anthony Furlong, Dennis McCoy, Mike Mason, Dustin Miller and MC Rick Thorne.

"Tony Hawk's performances at CityWalk have been hugely popular with our guests," Rich Costales, senior vice president of operations for Universal Orlando, said in a statement. "Expanding the event into Universal Studios will create an exciting environment where visitors can experience our rides and attractions in between shows."
