What is the lowest age child that you would take on the tower of terror.

My 6 year old daughter really wants to go on it but i dont know if she will stick it out in the queue.

My 9 year old "LaurenM" says she is definately not going on it!!

Any thoughts?

Hi Simon,

We all went on ToT, but only I knew what it really was.......they hadn't readSiomn's book and thought "it was just a tour".

Eldest DD 11 and I hated it, but glad we went on it.

Youngest DD 9 thought it brilliant, and persuaded DH to go on it again with her.

We were amazed that Eleanor wanted to do it again and she also did RnR 3 times-once on her own, and I would say that if she knows what it's going to be like, and still wants to go on it, do it.

She can always change her mind, even just before you go on.

HTH

Thats the problem, i don't want her changing her mind after we have queued up. As my DD9 doesn't want to do it, it means i will have to take DD6 on it on my own. If she bottles out then i will be miffed. (I am only a big moody selfcentred kid myself - LOL)

Simon,

I know what you mean about the queueing and then her chickening- eldest DD did that on test track, after a nice lady told her you crashed into a wall . . DD's were in a car crash a couple of years ago. Although she did do it the next day, and loved it.

She just went on the "chicken run" as I called it, and met us after. Perhaps this is an option, then you could do ToT.

Mind you, when we went we didn't have to queue long at all, about 10 minutes.

Its so hard to tell, Simon. My DD went on first when she was 8, didn't like it at all, and has sat it out every time since! (Now 14!. She doesn't mind the drop so much, its the 'ghostly' people bit she hates!! .

Thats the thing Angel, I think she would love the drop ,but I think the themeing might get the better of her.

Well, we know our own kids I suppose Smax (well, sometimes!. Becky has always been very sensitive about that type of thing....she's never yet done HM either! And yet she loves Dr Doom!! Who knows eh? .

Simon,

You could do:

(a) A baby-swap - even at the last minute

or

(b) as one of the CM's to escort your DD to the end of the ride and wait with her.

Our DDs are very apprehensive and we sometimes just left the pair of them at the end of the ride - the CM's just took them through to the waiting area.

We took our 5 1/2 year old on, and she was OK but just went the once.

RnR was a different story, she loved it!! (Tall for her age!!.  Round and round we went!!

My 9 year old loves both and 12 year old is not as keen!!  I think it's their character that's important, and you're the best person to know your own child!!

Hi Smax

Well im the big kid in our family ( havent got any rugrats yet).
I was very brave and did TOT by myself(dh dosent do rides).

I was worried about the theming as i hate creepy things(wont do Haunted Mansion) but it wasnt to bad. I wont got through the full description of the ride but i went back on again and again.

As Bonzo says you could always do a baby swap.

Not much help am I .  .

My dd was 6 when she first went on ToT and she LOVED it.
See how she feels when you get there, the same year she was apprehensive about going
on the Haunted Mansion ride, I think because the building is so spooky and imposing..we did get her on it and she loved that too!

SMAX,

She should be Ok at 6..........the only questionable bit is the pre-show in the library ( where you watch all the old hands at TOT sneak to the back of the room to be first out!! ).

When are you going??  Just that in November there were no queues at all...............plus if you use your Fastpass you won't have to queue very long even in summer months.

I'm with Mike, do it on a FP and you should be OK with the queueing - no time to bottle out.

We took DD aged 6 on and she loved it.  To be honest I was surprised as she had already bottled it earlier in the day and she is a sensitive little thing.  Having said that she did know that the people weren't real so that helped.

My DD was 2 months under 5 when she first went on TOT. It was her favourite.

Last December when she was 6.5 she wasn't as keen, preferes Rock 'N' Roller.

Hi Simon.....if you go the same day as us i'll hold your hand!!!!!!.

When we went before dh was on crutches and we went throught the back entrance so missed all the theming bit. Is it like the Haunted house, where it all goes dark ect in the room.  Does dd mind that

Not  much help sorry

My DD who is just 7 and just made the height requirement went on it 4 times in one day.  Shows how much she liked it. (mummy stayed off LOL)

. My brother was seven and he really loved it! Its all down to the child if your child is a daring then he/she will be fine but if they get easily intimidated then they should give it a miss. remember you can always do the babyswap.
