We're planning to get married in the North of Florida next month with a 1 week stay then followed by 1 week at Orlando.

We have a few faves picked out in each area such as Disney AKL, Royal Pacific at Universal and Sheraton or Wyndham on I drive, haven't looked at LBVista much.

Hardest part is choosing which location will suit best for hotels and alos which parks will appeal most to a couple on on extended honeymoon with no kids. We'll want all the fun & experience of the parks but a quiet retreat from that some nights but want to have plenty of choice of eateries and sometimes places where we can make a night of it & have drinks & not have to drive back.

We'd love to have the experience of some of the themed accommodation but nowhere naff, also not really a fan of the massive faceless chains unless done very well. I know everyone's taste differs but you all seem to have so much experience of the area & accommodation - thought it was worth asking if you have any suggestions or where you've honeymooned there?

Thanks a lot x

May i suggest one of the Epcot resorts. They are a bit pricey, but perfect location. You have the choice of yacht and beach club, boardwalk inn and the swan and dolphin. The beach and yacht club have gorgeous themeing, and are located within walking distance of Epcot and MGM, or there is a boat, so you could have a few drinks at either of these parks and not have to drive, also in this area i the boardwalk which has bars and restaurants. Plus of course you are on disney property so you get al the benefits of being onsite too such as free transport, extra magic hours, charging to your room and refillable mugs in your resort (plus loads of others i can't remember right now)

I think it will depend on what parks you want to concentrate on, and what kind of places you want to eat, as well as your budget of course.

I would love to stay at the Grand Floridian..... I guess most people would. I know its pricey, however a honeymoon should be a once in a life time thing.... Its very calm romantic and has lovely chill out areas. The pool and gardens are lush. Its ery close to MK,direct on the monorail, so you are ok for a glass of wine or two, berfore and after the parades/fireworks. Have a look around and see the price, I believe there are some deals on. Perhaps contact the hotel direct. Congratualtions... we first went to Florida with no kids ( we now have a DD 3/12yrs) beleive me its fab without kids too. And one day you may bring your own family back, and see another whole new prespective on it !! as adults we loved B Breeze, Pleasure Island, Shopping, Disney Quest, etc. With DD we loved exploring Mk, character meals, and searching for autographs!!!

Thanks everybody for the great suggestions - I've had a good look at them all & I'm still spoilt for choice although some of them have gone as it's getting so close, but Val/Cindersmum is doing a great job putting something together for us.
Can't wait to get booked and then only have to work out how to do a countdown & lose a stone in 4 weeks as bought my summer wedding dress in June well before the Christmas indulgence!
