I bought a Hi-Gear one when I started doing Cubs about 9 years ago from our local outdoor shop and it's still going strong. Last time in Florida Caron DW wantede one like it and we got one from Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's not quite as large as mine ( mine will take a full waterproof when you are out walking or mobile phone, camera, spare batteries, money etc when in the parks) . Both Carons and mine have a number of large pockets in.

I went into TKMaxx in Lakeside, Essex and picked up a Khaki Green Calvin Klein one (thinking that there was no way my Husband would wear it but as it was waterproof it would hold the digital camcorder etc) My Husband wore it for the whole 2 weeks and it held the camcorder, tickets, plasters, money and sunglasses - it was well worth getting and I am sure I paid around £7 for it.

That reminds me of our first trip when i bought a bum bag thinking it would be a very convenient thing to have. Hubby took one look at it and said there was no way he was gonna wear it! He did wear it in the end but i couldn't help sniggering at him in it, which didn't go down to well! But it was very handy. Don't think i'll be able to convince him this year though!;)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions (and jwalowls for the kind offer of the bright orange bum bag), now I know where to get them I'm going to go shopping :) LOL Mark, maybe I was asking for 'trouble' mentioning a decent sized bum bag :pgig:

My DH uses his bumbag every day - so wearing one on holiday is not unusual. He uses it to carry his wallet, keys, phone etc.

lol:grin: There is only one thing worse, someone I know has bought one that also holds two drinks bottles.
Can you imagine not only will he look ridiculous but with all the other stuff plus the drinks he will have back ache by the end of the day.

This is all because he is too tight to buy a drink:erm: .

I will be bumbag free;)

I have a bum bag that holds one drinks bottle which will come in handy when you are waiting for rides.

I would rather buy a drink and then throw it when finished rather than carry a bottle around all day, but each to their own.

I am a bum bag free zone;)

Spose its better than getting one in the Us and having to ask for a FannyPack!

How do you carry everything around then? I have money, sun cream, car keys, park tickets, passport, mobile, digital camera etc and I'm not going to carry a backpack all day or have my pockets stuffed full of things so a bumbag seems like a good option.

If you carry all that around you all ready have a backpack, its just on your front and not your back

Would you walk aroung your hometown with a bum bag, sorry I just hate bum bags.

Got to agree carrying a back pack can become tiresome after a full day as a bum bag limits what you can take.

... I do use a bum bag but more and more rely upon a very lightweight daysack, a packable but high quality one from Eagle Creek (available online via Rohan) (LINK) (http://www.rohan.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?ProdId=01119_____&CurrentCategory=Home%7cAccessories%7cAccessoriesTr avelBags)... I've got a black one. It's small enough to stuff under seats, in ride nets etc, and yet so much more room for cameras, water bottle, poncho etc...

M & S do them as a "seasonal" items from time to time.

Me? - Backpack all the way - oh the shame of having a bumbag / fanny pack! ;)

Luckily DH is quite a fan of the bumbag os I let him wear it and we only put money, keys etc in it so its not heavy and bulky. The rest of the rubbish we end up taking goes in the backpack which is slung on the buggy. Not sure what we'll do when buggies are no longer.

We got out bumbag from Disney, very nice black one with embroidered WDW on it.
