Dinner at Chef Mickey's

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone thats had a caracter meal at Chef Mickeys could tell me how do you get there? We're going on a non park day so will be driving from our hotel. The lady told us when we booked that we get to the restaraunt by monorail. I know you go through there on the monorail, but i thought we would drive to the Contemperary hotel and park there. Am i right? can you do that? or can you only acess the Contemperary via the monorail?:confused2
We're really looking forward to it, never had a caracter meal before.

We got a Taxi from all Stars Movies, $17 plus tip! I assume you can park there, we have at other hotels. We then went to MK on the monorail and caught a bus back to hotel.

When we went last January we just had to tell the guard on the gate why we were there and he gave us a pass for the car park.

You can drive to the Contemporary - you go as if you were driving into the Magic Kingdom, go to the ticket booths over on the right and tell the CM you are going to the Contemporary. Instead of driving into the MK parking lot you follow the road round to the right and follow the signs. When you get to the Contemporary you tell them you have a dinner reservation at Chef Mickeys, the guard will probably check you off his list and ask to see some photo ID. He will then give you a 3 hour parking pass.

I think the mention of monorail access is if you are going to be in either MK or Epcot that day and go to dinner straight from the parks

We had breakfast at Chef Mickeys and we parked at the hotel no problems. We just had to tell the guard we had a reservation and he gave us a parking pass.

The only time we had to show photo ID was for our illuminations cruise at the Yacht and Beach Club.

You can drive and park at the hotel, it ie easy, follow the signs, it will take you through the pay booths for the MK, but tell them of the booking at they let you through, if they are still open.
