We have been shopping around for October this year and wondered in your experience are we likely to get a better deal early or late? I understand the choice might be more limited later on, but my goodness - there are some amount of condos/villas out there:erm:

Any feedback appreciated.;)

Depends on where you want to stay...there are lots of condo's but will the ones that you like all be gone?
If I had my flights booked etc..I would book accomodation asap, especially if I wanted to stay in a particular resort/complex.

If you find one you really like and it is within the budget you have book it when you find it as then you know you have it and can get on with the rest of the planning .Some owners give discounts for early booking -some for late and some none at all so I suppose there is no hard and fast rule .

Hi Fiona
Generally we find that our guests book early ie: up to 12 months in advance as soon as flights are promulgated and have been arranged this insures you get the dates which you require we do offer discounts for early booking.

Hi,

If you specifically want a condo I would recommend Bahama Bay, I have the e-mail address for an owner if you would like it. Or like the others have said there are lots of villas advertised on here (including my own!) In terms of discounts we tend to do both - early booking discounts and late discounts if we have unfilled weeks, depends on the owner really.

Thnaks everyone for your input. Really just confirmed what I was thinking myself. And that is to just get a good price and book now and have everything sorted. We have been given a good price again from the owner who rented us his 2 b/r condo at Windsor Plams last time of £550 for the 2 weeks. The only thing is our eldest DS had to sleep in the lounge on the sofa bed - which was ok but now that he is 3 years older I'm not so keen so we are looking for a 3 bedroomed property or. Also I have a thing about not going back to the same places - I like to experience new places. It's amazing actually that I go back to Orlando - but I do - but I would prefer to stay somewhere new. We have been offered a 3 bedroomed condo for £650 and a 3 b/r townhouse for £700 both on Windosr Hills so I think we might just go with one of those as they site looks excellent and they are very good prices and as you say if I hang off we might not get anything as nice or what we would like:grin:

Cheers everyone. Better get back e-mailing to confirm those prices;)

Well I'm going to go against the flow here! We never book in advance! 2 years ago ended up getting flights for about £150 at Easter and Halloween, booking about 3 weeks in advance. Have never had problems getting accommodation we want, but we always have at least 3 on our list!

We booked nearly 12 months in advance, as we wanted a good price, this being the first time we haven't shared a villa and hence we have to pay the full whack ourselves:omg:

I found a villa at Palm Key for £500 for the fortnight, which i thought was good. Havent been yet though,so can't comment too much, but it looks nice, the owner sent us a dvd with photos on to look at.

I would tend to book early, more choice etc, though i can see the benefits of late booking , but we have to go in the Easter hols so we panicked a bit.

I am with the book early brigade, especially with half term in October! We normally use the villa ourselves in October but it is always a busy time for enquiries.

Babymac, just click on my name over the the left here and you get a drop down option click on send private message then it's just like doing a post. Then I will receive an e-mail saying I have a PM which I can read. I did try to PM you but it said that you had chosen not to receive them? I suspect you don't know anything about this?!;)
