View Full Version : Dvc room allocation
Hi dvc members, have you had any problems with room requests ie; non smoking, high room, quiet room, good view etc ? ( you get my drift, and what type of room we like;) ) The reason I ask, is because on the dis boards they talk about long waits and disappointing rooms if you arrive late afternoon. Any suggestions or tips on getting our type of room as we will always be checking in late afternoon having flown on VS075 from Manchester. Ian
Hi Ian, we have not experienced any disappointments with our room requests and generally have got more or less what we requested. So far as views go, it would probably be best to be specific about a view - for instance at BW you need to know if you want a standard view (cheapest) or a BW view or pool/garden view. So it helps to know the layout of the resort, which I suppose could be gleened from maps of each property.
Where are you planning on staying?
Hi Jan, we are just waiting for Disney to ok our resale contract for BCV 350 points with 284 banked. Crossed fingers ( Stu, we need an avitar with crossed fingers) if all goes to plan, 2 weeks at VWL in March/April and then 2 weeks at BCV for the F&W festival and mnsshp Oct/Nov. Ian
Wow, that sounds like a great contract and a great few weeks hols. Almost time for a "Welcome Home" from us to you, then.

We usually get the requests we ask for (but we don't usually have a long list ;) ) If you put them in the order of importance for you and don't be too disappointed if you don't get them all.
One thing you might want to do though is spend your first night in an off site hotel - this does two things, saves you a days points if you are arriving late in the afternoon (especially if you arrive on a Friday or Saturday and lets you check in early the next day and have a better chance of the room allocation you want
Thanks guys for the info. Jakki, mind reader or what? I had this idea about booking a studio for the first night and not unpacking and a 1BR for the remainder of the trip and taking advantage of the jet lag/up at the crack of dawn thing:erm: on day1 to get first dibs at the best rooms. Ian xxx

LOL - I wouldn't even waste the points on a studio. You could get a room somewhere off site in the DTD area for the night or if you wanted to be on-site check into one of the value resorts and Disney will move your luggage the next day for you
