this is one of my passions! You can get cross stitch kits in a few places:
Michaels - a large craft store with a few branches in and around Orlando. One at the top of International Drive, just before Prime outlets (used to be Belz), one on Sand lake Road just before Florida Mall, and one at the Loop, south John Young Parkway.
Needlecraft World - small shop in Kissimmee, on Irlo Bronson H'way (road 192?? i'm not sure of its number), east of the Walmarts/flea market, look for a small row of shops painted a bright terracotta with green roofs. She has a nice selection of kits, plus patterns.
Joann's /Walmarts do a small selection.
I usually buy the bits separately as they work out a lot cheaper in Florida (i.e. pattern, material, embroidery silks) but this might not suit a beginner.
I am hoping other posters will know of more places, that I can add to my list for our next trip!.

Micheals is all I can recommend.
You can also get Disney related ones in the Art Shop "The Art of Disney", in Downtown Disney.
I have heard that there is a shop in the Castle that sells cross stitch........I was soooooooo upset when I found this out because I've seen some kits that I love...check out the link below. Oh well we go back soon:spin:

For some reason the link dosn't work but if you cut and paste into your address bar it does.
Michael's is great for handicrafts - this is the highlight of our vacation for my wife!
