Ahhhhh, one of my favourites. I took the children there in 2004 (they were 17 and 12 at the time). We didn't know what to expect, and I just made a PM reservation when we entered Epcot at Guest Services. We had dinner there just before IllumiNations. The japanese CM's are EVER-SO-FRIENDLY, with lots of bowing. We were shown into a room with 4 large tables where the Chefs do all the cooking at a large griddle hot plate in the centre of each table. Our chef was very entertaining and he was great with the kids, getting them involved. The food was to die for - The kids had normal adults meals and the plates were all empty. I remember having steak and scallops - wonderful. I think I've got a picture somewhere in the Gallery, I'll try and find it.
The tables seat about 8 to 10 people I think, and so you can be sitting next to a stranger - but then again, we're all friends in Disney aren't we !
It's lovely to try some different food with a small dash of Japanese culture thrown in - we will definitely be eating there again one day - it was a real highlight of the day.
When I went over in May last year to research my map - I had one day off when I visited Epcot and had lunch in the other Japanese Restaurant where they do sushi and sasheemi - again, it was perfect and very yummy.
:spin:

Oh yes, you must try it here if you get the chance. It's lovely. Really entertaining for all ages. There's a write up about it in my trip report, detailing what the chefs get up to and stuff. I really recommend it here - infact I'm booking again for when we go back!

Do you get plenty to eat, we are all little piggies when it comes to eating out.
Both DS (15&12) are growing lads at 6ft5" and 5ft9".

I'd love to try here but I have seen some reports saying there's wasn't a lot to eat but it wasn't a UK site (if you know what I mean)

I have done a review with pics.
You'll find it in part 3 of the Vegetarian and the Carnivore index.

we did this in 2003 and i like my japanese food and especially seafood so i had the lobster scallops and shrimp but to be honest i didnt find the food tasty it all sort of tasted the same very bland the noodles and rice were really bland the noodles tasted very oily, but it might have been an of day, you couldnt fault the service and the chef thoughvery good, lynne is a veggie and was worried about all the meat and fish being cooked with the veg on one big hot plate but the chef spoke to lynne and cooked all her food first then the meat and fish so i thought that was very good. but as i say i prefer the yakitori fast food house or the one next door to the teppenaki you turn right at the top of the stairs and its all deep fired food you dip in sauces cant remeber the name right now but the service and food in there was fantastic and i will return here this year.

We really like this restaurant, and I think it would suit most fussy eaters, as it's basically plain meat and rice or noodles they cook it on the grill in front of you, and there is a choice of sauces, but the actual meal is quite simple food.
