I've been in October and March/April to the Canary Islands and it's been wonderfully hot. I think it's like that all year round.

Been in January and February, definitely T-shirts and shorts in the day. Jeans, long sleeves sufficient at night - we never need jackets.
Beware the winds at certain times bringing the sand from the Sahara over!!
The only cold bit is the water - both "heated" (don't make me laugh) hotel pools and the sea - althought the shallow sea areas are fine.

we went in december and i was wearing a bikini on the beach....(not the best of sights mind lol)
so yep nice and toasty in jan too!
Have to agree with soozicue about the "heated" pools though BRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The nights can be cold and crisp at that time of year so you will need something warm for bed.
